Sunflower Cottage Crochet

June has started .... and that means so has the Preemie Crochet Challenge!!

This is a Free PDF Pattern event that I have hosted for the last 4 years. In return for your free pattern pdf you are pledging to make at least one of each pattern you download to donate to a NICU / Charity / Family with a preemie baby near you. There will be a different pattern by a different designer featured each day during the month.

There are a range of patterns that will be available from blankets and hats, to bonding squares, booties, cocoons, cannula sleeve, preemie octopus and more!

Throughout the month several of the designers have agreed to chat with me about their patterns and contributions to this special event.

Sunflower Cottage Crochet

Hello and welcome to Sunflower Cottage Crochet!

I thought that it was about time that I introduced myself to you all.

I am Helen, the designer behind Sunflower Cottage Crochet. I started crocheting when I was 14 years old as a means of revising for exams. I didn't really crochet much after that until I had my daughter at age 30. She unleashed my creative spark!

I started designing crochet patterns in 2019 and am so lucky that I get to try to make this my career.

I am a wife and mother and live on the North-east coast of England, UK, with my little family and our pets - 2 dogs and a tortoise. My other hobbies include reading and quilting.

Over the next year you can expect to see a lot more from me here. I create both right and left handed video tutorials and this year I am trying to become more comfortable in front of the camera, so you can expect to see more live videos, shorts and competitions. I have a lot planned for you!
