Expect Anything, Enjoy Everything: https://youtu.be/VeYdLFWnusI

That's my mantra I came up with a few years ago that completely changed how I deal with the messy reality of wildlife photography. Because the truth nobody talks about is that for every beautiful photo shared, there are dozens of the missed moments: the blurry frames, the missed angles, the moments you mess up as a photographer.

Those missed moments used to haunt me during my wildlife adventures. Now they fuel my passion, not because I stopped caring but because I've learned how to reframe the anger and frustration and turn it into something valuable for my pursuit.

I break this down in my latest Behind the Lens episode, I hope you enjoy and let me know if it resonates with you!

My "Everything Else" Camera: https://youtu.be/JOiaPlA3H3M

When I picked up the Z6iii a year ago, I thought it would be my backup. Something I'd grab when the Z9 wasn't the right tool for the moment.
Instead it became something I didn't expect โ€” the camera I reached for in the "in-between" moments. A market in Vietnam. A swamp in Uganda. Sunset on a mountain in Mongolia. The stuff that happens fast, without warning, on the way to whatever you were actually planning to shoot.
One year, seven countries, and it earned a permanent spot in my bag. Sharing the full reflection in my latest video โ€” would love to hear from anyone else shooting with it.

The Art of Slowing Down: https://youtu.be/tHpKLahPxzU

Sometimes life feels like it's on rails. You blink and a year is gone. Blink again, a decade. We move through it so fast we miss most of what passes us by.

I think that's partially behind why I enjoy slowing footage down from my travels. I want to actually absorb what's happening. A wing beat. A snowflake finding its path. Wheat bending back after someone brushes by. Moments that happen right in front of us but we're too much in a hurry to notice.

That's what shooting slow motion does for me. It not only freezes time to reveal something hidden within the frames, but it reminds me that it's okay. Slow down. Enjoy the moments between the moments. Those are the ones worth keeping.

My homage to Uganda told through 120 photos https://youtu.be/gti4wSbZrGc

As I wrap up another trip to Uganda, I'd like to share my favorite captures across a number of journeys throughout the Pearl of Africa. Every time I visit, this place surprises me with its beauty across its landscapes, its wildlife, and its people. So much more to explore, I hope you join me in exploring Uganda.

Imagine my surprise to be currently in Uganda and having just finished a couple chimp treks, only to discover โ€œchimp civil warโ€ is trending in the exact same forest I was in. Here I was observing these chimps, meanwhile they were all SCHEMING xD anyways hereโ€™s one of them practicing on me (I survived, weโ€™re chill now).

Will AI replace me as a creator? I think it's something a lot of us are pondering and worried about. In my latest video I share my thoughts around how I view AI both as a tool and as a threat, and how I aim to survive in this new era of exponential intelligence. I hope you check it out! https://youtu.be/4fGhMCUaMsM

new video โ€” I strapped a camera to my backpack and chased a mother chimp and her baby through Kibale Forest in Uganda. no commentary, no narration after the intro, just a few minutes of what chimp trekking actually looks and sounds like.
this is just a taste โ€” considering sharing a full end-to-end trek soon if you're into it. let me know ๐Ÿ‘‡

Golden hour is overrated. Okay that's a lie...BUT one of my favorite character developments as a photographer / filmmaker has been the full embrace of shooting in the dark, "stepping into the shadows" if you will, and trusting my camera to capture the moment beautifully. I share these thoughts in my latest video which I hope you'll check out ^^ Let me know your thoughts in the comments I ALWAYS appreciate that <3
