I have been playing boogie woogie and blues piano since I was 10 years old. I was fortunate to learn from some of the greatest contemporary masters of these styles, who were always incredibly generous with their knowledge. On this channel I do my best to pass on what I learned (from my teachers and from other personal experience) so that this music will never die.

TOMORROW I'm doing a Zoom piano MASTERCLASS on building left hand independence over boogie and blues bass patterns!
I'll walk through the practice methodology I use to build a steady, locked-in left hand while actually freeing up the right hand to play melodies or solo.

I cannot do my work as a physical therapist for the next few days due to a bad case of poison Ivy on my hands. However I can still play piano and teach, so I will be completing some more member requested tutorials and hope to do another Office Hours on Saturday or Sunday (stay tuned).
