I like to watch and review old classics of cinema, exploring old gems of the past, and I try to keep the reviews positive, clean and upbeat. Thanks for visiting!
Happy Birthday to the one and only Errol Flynn! (June 20, 1909 – October 14, 1959) There have been many swashbucklers, but only one Errol Flynn. Whether he was robbing from the rich, sailing the Spanish Main, or dueling with Basil Rathbone, he was one of the greatest adventure stars!
My personal favorite remains The Sea Hawk (1940). Flynn just shines in the role, it's got Korngold's amazing music lots of great swordplay! Any favorites you'd recommend?
Happy birthday Dick Foran (June 18, 1910 – August 10, 1979) who was an American actor and singer best known in the 1930's as Warner Bros “singing cowboy” and who starred across a number of films including dramas, comedies, horror, and westerns. I caught him not long ago in films like The Mummy's Hand (1940),
Tokyo Joe (1949) is my latest review. It was great to revisit Bogart again in a film that had some Casablanca flavor while also being it's own unique picture and I enjoyed digging into this one. Link to review: https://youtu.be/T7LmB-2Ev0w
Happy birthday to Basil Rathbone (13 June 1892 – 21 July 1967) legendary star of more than 70 films, frequently playing sinister villains such as Mr. Murdstone in David Copperfield (1935) and Sir Guy of Gisbourne in The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) but probably most well known for his role as Sherlock Holmes in fourteen films made between 1939 and 1946.
Happy birthday Priscilla Lane (June 12, 1915 – April 4, 1995) a lovely and talented actress remembered for films like The Roaring Twenties (1939) with James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart as well as Hitchcock's Saboteur (1942). I remember her most recently for a review I did of Blues in the Night (1941).
Alright, how about a poll for the next film, and this list includes a bunch of weird and creepy films because, why not? Which film would be good for the next review?
Spooks Run Wild (1941) is my latest review. This one was just straight up silly as Bela Lugosi meets the East Side Kids led by Leo Gorsey. Plenty of creepy hijinks in a spooky old mansion. Really enjoyed this brief and entertaining bit of silliness. https://youtu.be/Q4UKkFghfcM
Happy Birthday to Rosalind Russell, born June 4, 1907, a charming and beautiful actress who I've seen in many films, but probably remember the best as the reporter with that wonderful, rapid-fire dialogue with Cary Grant in the film His Girl Friday (1940).

Paul Lynde as a guest star on the Munsters ("Low-Cal Munster", episode aired Oct 29, 1964.) The guy is a crack up!

Some silliness on the way for the next film review. Anyone take a guess what it is?
