Message of the Week: Spiritual Siege and Invasion

This powerful message was preached by Pastor George Olofintuyi at the Deeper Life Workers’ Retreat on 11th June 1992, and it remains deeply relevant for believers today.
The devil is strategic and patient. Long before an outright invasion, he lays a siege around lives, families, ministries, and destinies. His goal is to steal, kill and destroy, but gradual weakening, cutting off spiritual supplies, draining faith, and wearing down resistance until compromise becomes easy. Satan has no love for humanity; in fact, his hatred intensifies the moment a person identifies with Christ and commits to living for God.
Often, this warfare does not begin with obvious attacks. It comes subtly through temptations, prolonged trials, discouragement, repeated setbacks, delays, disappointments, and roadblocks designed to frustrate purpose and derail obedience. Many believers are under siege without realizing it, mistaking spiritual warfare for coincidence or mere circumstances.
In this message, Pastor Olofintuyi exposes the tactics, schemes, and theatrics of the enemy, helping believers discern when a siege is in progress and how to respond biblically and spiritually. He emphasizes the need for vigilance, spiritual preparation, unwavering faith, and total dependence on God to withstand and overcome the relentless onslaught of the kingdom of darkness.
This message is especially relevant for individual believers, Christian leaders, and pastors who continually encounter “Jericho walls” in their spiritual lives or ministerial assignments. It is a call to rise, recognize the battle, and engage in victorious spiritual warfare through prayer, holiness, faith, and obedience.
