Will we see a trailer announcing the release of Squadron 42 this year, or is it Squadover for 2026.

Coming at you hot with another question: Should CIG continue to offer us these big spectacle missions like Tactical Strike Groups, Hathor, Rockcracker and Stormbreaker, or should they focus more on improving the day-to-day, smaller missions?
Now as I have released the Squadron 42 Development Retrospective, I speak about the community polls that vastly expanded the scope of Star Citizen and Squadron 42.
So my question to you today is, knowing all that you know now, say we put you back in 2014, would you have voted to expand the scope to put the game where it is today?
I am happy to announce that the Squadron 42 Development History Retrospective REDUX is COMPLETE and I am putting the final touches on the episodes and the full version and uploading to check copyright. But as the full version was just shown as copyright free this puppy is good to go.
As I stated in my last video I have decided on a release plan that I hope will be to the best benefit to the channel, and is as follows;
On the 14TH OF MAY this week I will be releasing the FULL VERSION of the retrospective as a MEMBER ONLY exclusive for the first month.
The FIRST EPISODE will release alongside it from the 14TH OF MAY aswell. It’s a one hour long episode that covers 1968 up until 2014.
EPISODE 2 will release on the 21ST OF MAY and is 1 hour 14 minutes long.
EPISODE 3 will release on the 28th OF MAY and is about 57 minutes long.
And finally the FULL version will be made publicly available the week after on the 4TH OF JUNE.
I understand this may not be entirely as expected by everyone but I came to this conclusion due to several reasons. For one, it is so that I can in a way “buy some time” as my unemployment is coming to an end quite soon so this gives me space to create content ahead of time to help in maintaining a weekly release schedule.
My lowest member rank (ROE) is only 9kr (About 97 cents) so you don’t have to go all in, or you can just wait a month and it will be released for free anyway. It’s been over a month of pretty hard work with research, scriptwriting, voiceover and editing as I have mostly been doing all this myself with some help from friends in proof reading (Thanks Vesk), but overall it’s been a one man show.
The aim with the money raised (if any) is purely to be reinvested into the channel, as I wish to get myself better equipment to improve my voiceovers with a mixer and new microphone as this one I currently have is quite a struggle to deal with.
I want to strive towards higher quality videos overall in all aspects and I hope that you will get to see that in the near future.
I thought I might as well give everyone a status update on the Squadron 42 Retrospective project, as I have only been updating on the discord (Where you can sometimes catch me in the edit booth to get exclusive first looks, wow!). [ discord.com/invite/herring ]
So first off, the script was finished a few days ago, and naturally I approved my work and altered it slightly upon the second draft. I dare not call it complete because it gets changed whenever I feel like something else would work better than the original idea.
I have also completed the voiceover and first draft edit from the years of 1968 (The birth of Chris(t) Roberts) up until 2012, alongside the foreword, intro and “Herring introduction”. As it stands now there are about 39 minutes of video complete (FIRST DRAFT) so progress has been smooth. Albeit tiresome, as I got bogged down trying to find B-Roll for 20+ year old games that I didn’t have, so hopefully the later years will go faster.
But as things stand, I am very much on track to *hopefully* finish earlier so I can spend more time in my very own polish phase.
I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone for their continued support on discord which is invaluable. But as stated, popping into discord and sharing any further insights into Squadron 42 and its development is just as valuable.
