Sam Gracie, formerly known as Avid Beats, is a versatile indie and electronic artist, singer/songwriter and music producer from London, UK. His catalogue spans a wide range of genres, including hundreds of original works and collaborations with musicians worldwide.

Each of Sam's projects tells a specific story, both musically and visually. Sam increasingly creates captivating videos for his songs, such as the beautiful stop motion video he made for his alternative art pop piece "Can you find me, you, us?" with Cece Alaniz.

Discussing topics such as emotions and the environment, Sam's lyrics are from the heart. He writes many of them in nature, which is one of his biggest inspirations, and loves to link his feelings to things that he sees and experiences while spending time in nature. Campaigning to protect the environment is also a central aspect of his life.

Sam's creative approach allows him constantly to experiment, pushing boundaries, while retaining his distinctive sound.

Everybody's different 🌈 Here's the 6th section of the behind-the-scenes series showing the creative proceess for our new indie art pop music video "Can you find me, you, us?" ‪@cecealaniz‬ 🎨🖌️

In this section, multicoloured zigzags spread across the scene to reflect the lyric "everybody's different" - the colour choices for the lines are the same as the arms seen throughout the video. These lines are then shakily covered over with charcoal as the word "violence" is sung, with the arms coming back in to circle round the lyric "it's you and me", creating a sense of hope through connection. 🤝❤️🤝💜🤝🧡🤝💚

We are feeling so happy that you love the stop motion animation and 10-part series, and are excited to share the other clips with you! Working with Cece Alaniz and my mum, Alison Gracie, has been amazing, and we are extremely thankful for your insights and kind feedback. 🙏🥰

Can you find us? 💖 Here's day 5 of the behind-the-scenes series showing the creation of the stop motion animation for our new indie art pop song "Can you find me, you, us?" ‪@cecealaniz‬ 🎨🖌️

In the main chorus/refrain, a world is formed out of beads, which is then disrupted by red beads, representing climate change. 🌍💔 In the second half of the section, the scene is divided in half by orange and pink colours, which merge together when the lyric "Can you find us?" is sung, continuing the theme of extension and connection to make a better world. 🧡🩷

We are elated you're enjoying this 10-part series, and are excited to share the rest with you! Working with Cece Alaniz and my mum, Alison Gracie, has been a wonderful experience, and we are truly grateful for your beautiful thoughts and feedback. 🙏🥰

In the second part of verse 2, two gemstones move apart in the frame and are joined together by a dotted line by the end of the verse to symbolise the lyric "there are echoes of us, even if we are afar". 🩵

Each section of the music video highlights a different aspect of the song’s meaning. We are so glad you are enjoying seeing the creative process and can't wait to share the rest of this 10-part series with you! 🌈🎥

In verse 2, a magnolia flower falls apart to signify “losing it all”. It subsequently joins together again, with the leaves becoming wings carrying the flower across the scene, representing “extending ourselves”. 🍃🪽

Each section of the animation highlights a different aspect of the song’s meaning. We hope you enjoy seeing the creative process and can't wait to share the rest of this 10-part series! 🌈🎥

This is day 2 of making the stop motion video for my new indie art pop project with Cece Alaniz ‪@cecealaniz‬ , "Can you find me, you, us?". 🎨🖌️

Watch now: youtube.com/shorts/sT39lQO3Lxc

In the first verse, I animate paper cutouts of arms which reach out to one another - eventually joining together - to emphasise the lyrics "in a world where we won't have much left / can you find me? / can you find you? / can you find us?". 🤝 I also form a world out of beads, which is broken apart and washed away. 🌍

Each section of the music video highlights a different aspect of the song's meaning. 🌈 We hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at the process, and can't wait to share the rest of the 10-part series with you. 🎥

It's been amazing to collaborate both with Cece and my Mum, Alison Gracie, on this deeply meaningful piece. 🧡🩷 We are incredibly thankful for your support! 🙏🥰
