Epic Aussie Encounters

Welcome to Epic Aussie Encounters!

We use this channel to share original Australian wildlife behavior captured on our own trail cameras, which we set up and check ourselves in the Australian bush. Every video you see here is filmed, retrieved and put together by us through long term camera placement and observation.

Our focus is on conservation and education by documenting and sharing how Australian wildlife uses its environment. Sometimes we use simple, non invasive setups like mirrors to better understand how animals respond and interact, always making sure we protect the wildlife and their environment.

This channel is about the quiet side of the Australian bush and showing wildlife exactly as it exists in the wild.

If you enjoy authentic Australian wildlife footage, feel free to subscribe for future uploads.

Thank you everyone, this video has passed 3 million views.

I honestly didn’t expect this little trail camera mirror setup to reach that many people.

Really appreciate everyone who has watched, commented, shared, subscribed and supported Epic Aussie Encounters. More Australian wildlife videos are on the way.

THE REVEAL 👀

For everyone still trying to find it, here’s the carpet python hiding in the original photo.

Crazy how well they blend into the Australian bush.

Really appreciate ‪@BrowningTrailCameras‬ sharing this one.

This clip was captured on a Strike Force cam I had set up at a creek crossing that’s been getting a fair bit of regular movement. It picked up a good mix of wildlife passing through, including this wallaby and joey.🦘🌿

Happy Easter everyone.
Our new wildlife mirror video is out. Different species encounter the same reflection.

Which animal do you think understood the mirror?

Tawny frogmouth.

Came across this one tonight.

You can be looking straight at one of these and not realise it, especially during the day when they sit upright, stay completely still, and resemble part of the branch.

They’re often mistaken for owls, but they’re not closely related. Instead of chasing prey, they rely on patience, sitting still and dropping onto it at the right moment.

In colder conditions, they can even slow their metabolism and remain almost motionless for long periods.

They’ll often stay in the same area for years, so chances are you’ve walked past one before without ever noticing it.

Found this hollow log while checking cameras and noticed a lot of activity around the entrance.

Any guesses what might be using it?
Should I set a trail camera on it and find out?

A few interesting moments at this creek spot. One of the kangaroos suddenly turned on the younger one, and there was also a snake passing through the area.
Curious what everyone thinks the snake might be.

Adding two more eyes in the bush to increase the chances of capturing behaviour that normally slips past unseen.
I appreciate ‪@BrowningTrailCameras‬ support in supplying two Strike Force DCL Nano units. They’ll be incorporated into upcoming bush setups across new locations.
