1 MILLION VIEWS !!??!!?!?!? A sincere Thank You to anyone who's ever watched even 1 video I've made. I do this because I love it, but I make my videos... for you. Thank you.
Just announced for release on October 20th!!! THE COMPLETE KUBRICK COLLECTION via Criterion. This thing looks intense! Will you be purchasing this when it releases in the fall?
NEW THEORY Video on STANLEY KUBRICK's THE SHiNiNG!!! I break down the entire film from first shot to last, focusing on how Jack Torrance's latent ability to SHINE affected his every move while The Caretaker of The Overlook Hotel during the Winter of 1980.
Stanley Kubrick's THE SHINING is filled with Duality.
In one week I'll be sharing with you my complete The Shining theory, which I've spent two long months writing, recording and editing.
I want to note (for anyone interested) that these latest videos and everything coming up is hand-crafted editing done by me and me alone. No team. No AI. Just a film-lover and his MacBook.
In Film School I studied editing on both digital and physical media. I actually shot and cut my own films on 16mm. I used a giant table/machine called a movieola and hand cut and glued my shots together. I went to film school in the early '00's and it was a weird time with phyla media still reigning but on its last legs being the number one way consumers saw films in theater. Digital was new, but it wasn't great yet. The future was coming, and I was in the middle. Today I share with you, my love of movies and editing, all in one.
Oh, and if you want to hear me talk about other stuff, I'll be on The Haven't Scene It Podcast next Thursday. CLICK HERE https://youtu.be/7Dwo_LDa3dM?si=5o1Z-... for our older episode talking about 2001: A Space Odyssey

Stanley Kubrick's "NAPOLEON" original screenplay just sold for $50,400.
The film, referred to as "The greatest film never made." Was officially shelved in 1969.
The screenplay came from the estate of Kubrick's film attorney and was auctioned via Potter & Potter.
