πŸ‘– A Second Life for Old Jeans: Ideas That Start Small https://youtu.be/tR1nX76OS7c
Old jeans are a true treasure trove for creativity. Even if they seem worn out, they actually open up new possibilities. Thick denim can be used to make bags, cosmetic bags, organizers, covers, decorative pillows, and dozens of other useful items for the home and everyday life.
And what's especially nice is that it's not just large pieces that can be used. Even small scraps left over from repurposing can be useful. Pockets, seams, interestingly textured piecesβ€”all of these become fodder for new ideas and experiments.
That's how one of my ideas was born. Sorting through the remaining scraps, I realized that they could be used to create something completely independent and functional. Thus, from simple scraps, a new idea emergedβ€”an item that is not only useful but also holds a piece of its past history. Sometimes it's enough not to throw away "little things," but to look at them with inspirationβ€”and they turn into something truly valuable ✨

Here's a translation of your text into natural-sounding English, suitable for a DIY tutorial:

πŸ’Œ Store your belongings in style with a handmade fabric basket!

There's a vast array of boxes, baskets, and containers available in stores for home organization. Today, I'm going to show you how to sew your own fabric basket. This simple project won't take much time at all. See how to sew such a basket by following the link https://youtu.be/69hATWVDnWo

➑ What you'll need:

Fabric in two different colors (cotton is a great choice)
Fusible interfacing (adhesive-backed stabilizer)

βœ… Step 1: Cut your fabric. Cut out two pieces of fabric measuring 35 x 16 cm from one color, and two pieces of the same size from the other color.

βœ… Step 2: Fuse the interfacing. Cut out two pieces of fusible interfacing to the same dimensions (35 x 16 cm) and fuse them to the wrong side of your fabric pieces using a hot iron.

βœ… Step 3: Shape the basket base. From the bottom two corners of each main fabric piece, cut out a 7 x 7 cm square.

βœ… Step 4: Sew the main basket. Place two of your main fabric pieces right sides together and sew along three sides, leaving one of the 35 cm sides open. Repeat with the other two main fabric pieces.

βœ… Step 5: Prepare the lining. Take your lining fabric pieces. Place them right sides together. On one of the 35 cm sides, mark a gap of about 10-15 cm that you will not sew shut – this is for turning the basket later. Sew the other three sides.

βœ… Step 6: Create the handles. Cut out fabric pieces for your handles, fuse interfacing to them, then fold in the edges by 1 cm and baste them in place. Fold the piece in half again and machine sew along the edges to create sturdy handles.

βœ… Step 7: Attach the handles. Pin and stitch the handles to the right side of the outer basket pieces (before assembling them).

βœ… Step 8: Assemble the basket. Turn one of your main basket sections (the one with the handles attached) right side out. Turn the lining right side out. Insert the right-side-out lining into the right-side-out outer basket.

βœ… Step 9: Align the seams. Match up the side seams of the outer basket and the lining.

βœ… Step 10: Sew the top edge. Machine stitch around the top edge of the basket, about 1 cm from the raw edge, securing both the outer fabric and the lining together.

βœ… Step 11: Turn the basket. Carefully pull the entire basket right side out through the opening you left in the lining.

βœ… Step 12: Close the opening. Hand-stitch the opening in the lining closed using a blind stitch.

βœ… Step 13: Topstitch the rim. Machine stitch around the top folded edge of the basket, about 0.3 cm from the edge, to give it a clean finish.

Your storage basket is now ready!

Wishing you a wonderful mood and creative success!

5 ways to surprise yourself and your home with a round cloth basket! ✨

My love for round baskets is serious! ❀️

Hello friends! I am delighted with the round fabric baskets! You know, I'm always looking for ways to make my home not only beautiful, but also as functional as possible. And these baskets are just a godsend!

When I first started sewing them, I thought they would be just for storing small things. But the more I used them, the more ways I found!

🌸1. Mobile Needlework kit: Tired of searching for needles, threads and buttons all over the house? Collect all the necessary supplies in a basket and move it from room to room, where it is convenient for you to create! 🧡

🌸2. Capacity for yoga accessories: Mat, strap, block – everything is at hand and in order! The basket is ideal for storing yoga equipment, and thanks to the handles, it is easy to move it to any place for your workout.πŸ§˜β™€οΈ

🌸3. Car Trivia Organizer: Keep your car clean and tidy. Use the basket to store car care products, napkins, and other necessary items. May every trip be comfortable! πŸš—

🌸4. A cozy place for a pet (small!): Put a soft pillow inside, and the basket will turn into a personal space for your cat or small dog. Just make sure it's stable enough!

🌸5. I even adapted one for my balls of yarn (I also love knitting!).Then I realized that it was perfect for storing medicines in the bathroom – now everything you need is at hand, and no mess! πŸ’Š

The cool thing is that they're so easy to clean! I just throw them in the washing machine (on delicate mode, of course) and voila – they're as good as new!✨

That's why I decided to share my passion with you! I hope that my baskets will help you make your home even more cozy and organized.

If you have any ideas on how to use a round basket, please share them in the comments! I'm very interested! πŸ‘‡

TIME TO SEW

Today I propose to sew a textile box with storage cells. Such boxes with cells are often used for convenient sorting of small items, such as socks.

Materials for work:

Cotton fabric (2 colors)
Fusible Fleece Interfacing 180 g/m2
Fusible Interfacing Fabric
Oblique label

Step 1
We cut out the details for the inside of the box. I picked up an orange fabric with white polka dots.

Cells:

20 x 22 cm – 2 pieces

20 x 32 cm – 1 piece

The sides:

11 x 12 cm – 2 pcs

11 x 22 cm – 4 pieces

Bottom of the box:

22 x 32 cm – 1 piece

Fusible Interfacing Fabric:

9 x 20 cm – 2 pcs

9 x 30 cm – 1 piece

8 x 20 cm

For the front side of the box, I chose a white fabric with colored stars. We cut out the details.

Bottom:

22 x 32 cm – 1 piece

The sides:

11 x 22 cm – 2 pcs

11 x 32 cm – 2 pcs

A pen

8 x 20 cm

Fusible Fleece Interfacing:

20 x 30 cm – 1 piece

10 x 20 cm – 2 pieces

10 x 30 cm – 2 pieces

Step 2.
Let's prepare the inside of the box first.

We fold the 20 x 22 cm piece in half along the 20 cm long side. We apply a 9 x 20 cm doubler to the central fold, an indentation of 1 cm should be obtained from the edges and ironed with an iron. We do the same with two other parts (20 x 22 cm and 20 x 32 cm).

We bend the edge of the parts, along the long side inside and stitch.

The central part is divided into segments 11,10,11cm. We fold the short parts in half, find the center and draw a line. We attach one of the short parts to the central part, connect the centers of the two parts and sew them on the machine. Then we turn the part over and attach the second short part. We sew it on.

Sew the side side into the circle of cells. We sew 11 x 22 cm parts into the corners, connect the central part with 11 x 12 cm parts.

It remains for us to sew the bottom of the box – 22 x 32 cm.

Step 3.
Now let's take care of the front of the box.

We take a 22 x 32 cm piece and glue a 20 x 30 cm Interfacing on the inside. We also glue a 10 x 20 cm Fusible Fleece Interfacing to an 11 x 22 cm part, and 10 x 30 cm to 11 x 32. The indentation on three sides is 1 cm, the upper edge is without indentation.

Let's make a handle for the box.

We take the part 8 x 20 cm and glue the Interfacing with an iron. Fold in half, stitch on both sides, retreating 1 cm. Through the third side, we turn it out. We iron it with a hot iron and give a 0.3 cm stitch along the contour. We sew the handle to the side 11 x 22 cm.

We sew the parts 11 x 22 cm and 11 x 32 cm, so that a rectangle is formed.

Next, sew on the bottom of the box.

Step 4.
We turn out the product. We insert the part with the cells inside. We connect the upper edges, while fixing them exactly with sewing clothespins or pins. The upper edge is stitched. Then, to trim the upper edge, we sew an oblique label.

A convenient storage box is ready and can be used on the farm.

TIME TO SEW

I couldn't resist a new textile basket in the store πŸ›οΈ, but I didn't buy it ❌. I sewed it myself 🧡, in a simple way πŸ‘.
For optimal organization of the home space 🏑, I increasingly use textile baskets 🧺.

In this article, I will show you a simple sewing option for a textile basket βœ‚οΈ. For more clarity, I suggest you watch the video πŸŽ₯ https://youtu.be/ByD18PH_Aec

Materials: πŸ“

Cotton fabric in 2 colors 🎨
Volumetric adhesive non-woven fabric 180 g/m2 🧷
Knitting cord (100% cotton 5 mm wide, for ties) 🧢

Step 1 πŸͺ‘
We cut out details measuring 40 x 40 cm βœ‚οΈ.
We glue the non-woven fabric with a hot iron πŸ”₯. We make a 12 x 12 cm square template out of cardboard πŸ“¦. We cut out the corners on it βœ‚οΈ.
We leave 4 pieces of the cut squares, bend them in half πŸ”„ and stitch the side edges 🧡. Next, turn it out on the front side πŸ”„. The product is bent and sewn on 4 sides of the main part of the basket 🧺.
We sew the front part of the basket in the corners and turn it out πŸ”„. We do the same with the inside πŸ”„. On one of the sides, we will leave a non-stitched hole through which πŸšͺ. In the future, we will turn out the product πŸ”„.
We connect the front part to the inside πŸ”—, align the seams πŸ“ and sew the upper edge 🧡. We turn out the product πŸ”„. We sew up the hole on the inside πŸ”’. Carefully straighten the basket 🧺. And we give a line along the upper contour of the basket ✏️.
All that remains for us is to stretch the cord to make the ties of our basket 🧢.
Everything is ready βœ…. We fill the basket with household accessories 🧹🧼 and send it to the closet for storage πŸšͺπŸ“¦.
