In an interview with Al Jazeera, the former chief of the International Criminal Court said that Mossad repeatedly pressured her to drop an investigation on war crimes in Palestine.
Fatou Bensouda, who led the international body from 2012 to 2021, said a two men with ties to Israel came to her house in The Hague after she opened the investigation in 2015 in order to intimidate her.
“I felt left alone. I felt unsupported,” she said.
Bensouda also said that Mossad repeatedly pressured her to drop the investigation during official meetings with the chief of the Israeli spy agency.
“What was clear what that he didn’t want the investigation on Palestine to go on,” Bensouda said.
“Also there are even authorities (of some countries) that have appealed to me. ‘You really need to stop, this is going very far’. You could be harmed or you could be killed or family members could be harmed in some ways. But to me, it was out of the question,” Bensouda added.

As Eid al Adha nears, Gaza’s humanitarian crisis is deepening under Israel’s ongoing blockade, with severe restrictions on the entry of aid, fuel and commercial goods.
More than 2.4 million Palestinians are facing worsening shortages of food, medicine and basic necessities, while humanitarian organisations warn conditions across the Palestinian enclave are reaching catastrophic levels.
Israel’s two-year genocidal war on Gaza has killed over 72,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and wounded over 172,000 since October 2023, and caused massive destruction to 90% of civilian infrastructure.

Nearly 2 million Muslims are expected to perform Hajj in 2026 as Saudi Arabia records a continued rise in pilgrim arrivals and intensifies preparations for the annual pilgrimage season.
Hajj is an annual pilgrimage that draws millions of Muslims to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, to perform religious rites as taught by Islam’s Prophet Mohammad to his followers 14 centuries ago.
As the fifth pillar of Islam, Hajj is a religious duty required once in a lifetime for every physically and financially able Muslim. It represents the highest expression of Islamic faith, devotion, and global unity.
The pilgrimage takes place during the 12th month of the Islamic lunar calendar, meaning its timing shifts each year in relation to the solar calendar. As a result, both Hajj and Ramadan occur in different seasons over time.
Eid al-Adha, one of Islam’s two main holidays, falls midway through this week and marks the climax of the hajj.

The US government has sent a subpoena to CodePink co-founder Medea Benjamin over a humanitarian trip to Cuba in March 2026, Fox News reports.
The subpoena was issued “as part of a wider investigation into whether US organisations and leaders violated US laws and sanctions in supporting Cuba’s communist government,” the outlet claims.
Benjamin said she has not yet received any subpoena and that “perhaps one is on the way.”
“We traveled to Cuba under the US government-authorised category of providing humanitarian aid to the Cuban people,” she said in a statement shared online.
“It is outrageous that the US government would target people for bringing humanitarian aid to suffering Cuban children,” she added.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) condemned what it described as “performative and politically motivated targeting”.
“Every American who believes in the rule of law and human rights should stand in solidarity with Medea and demand that the Treasury Department drop its McCarthyite witch hunt,” the group said in a press release.
