The Prism dissects film, fame, and culture to reveal what we miss on the surface.
We analyze how movies shape society and how society misreads movies. From Fight Club's ironic masculinity cult to the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope, we explore the gap between what creators intended and what audiences embraced.
Through deep dives into cinema, celebrity rises and falls, and cultural moments that defined generations, we examine power, accountability, and the stories we tell ourselves about entertainment. Every video challenges surface-level takes with thoughtful analysis—because the most interesting part isn't what happened, it's why we interpreted it that way.
New videos weekly. Subscribe for cultural criticism that goes deeper than the headlines.

Hey Ya'll - The HEAT deep dive vid is scheduled to launch today. However, youtube isin't letting me post it as one big video. It's approx 50 min long. So I'm going to be posting it in three parts over the next week or so starting with Part 1 today....
I'm going to figure out a solution for future deep dive videos. My preference is to post it as one vid. But for now, HEAT will be in three parts.

Hey all - hope you're enjoying The American Psycho video. I originally did a video about it about 7 months ago, before I truly understood what this channel is supposed top be. so I decided to do a different (better one) which i thought was appropriate considering how relevant this film is today.
Next week I'm going to be doing a video on the film A.I Artificial Intelligence. And no, i'm not going to talk about how the movie predicted A.I, blah blah blah, lol.
Two weeks from today I'm going to be posting our first long form video. It's a new series i'm introducing where we do deeper dives once per month. Been working super hard on this...the first movie i'm examining is HEAT. I started working on June's deep dive as well. I won't disclose the film yet other than to say that it's a Jim Carrey movie.
Last thing...my new channel launched last week. I have three videos posted there already and will continue to post every Thursday at noon.
Please consider offering your support there as well. And please note that while I have an idea of what that channel is going to be, ultimately The Prism channel has evolved based on feedback from you guys, both positive and critical. So the videos i'm doing now for that channel, while still entertaining, are ultimately "test videos" i'm going to use to continue and build the tone and theme behind my content. Channel link is below. Thank you all as always for your support.

Hi everyone - For the month of May i'm currently working on vids for The Devil Wears Prada and I may do a new take on American Psycho. What's def going to be released is my first deeper dive long form video about the film Heat. That will most likely be published the final week of May and i plan on continuing to publish one new deep dive vid every month moving forward.
In addition, in my previous post I talked about starting a second channel. Well that channel is launching this Friday, May 1st!
The channel is called, Millennial Rewind. It's a similar concept, my take on shows from the 90's and 2000's with some tiny differences.
I'm not going to just strictly talk about individual shows like I do about individual films on this channel. I will also explore different character arcs, different individual moments or scenes and what they represent, as well as the TV watching cultural differences between today and how things looked and felt before streaming.
I will post a new video weekly on Thursdays. However, I'm launching the channel with 6 videos in May.
Friday's video will explore Will Smith and the biggest moment his character had on the Fresh Prince, followed by my take on Friends, followed by a really awesome video i'm really excited about comparing binge watching vs the old school 22 episode week by week waiting game.
I hope you all join me there and continue to throw your support my way.
The link to the channel is here...

Hi everyone - haven't posted in a while. Wanted to say hello and thank you to all who continue to support this channel with your subs and your views. I want to first start by saying that i'm still in the "figuring it out" phase. At the end of the day, all is want is for my videos to entertain those who watch them and hopefully hit someone's emotional bone in the meanwhile. But i'm still very new at this, still learning, and my goal is to make each new video better then the last one.
There are a few things i'm planning on doing over the next couple of months. The first is to start doing more "long form" content. A deeper, longer dives into some of my personal favorite movies. These are going to generally be kick-ass films that i've watched and continue to watch over and over again.
These videos will be anywhere from 45min to an 1 hour. They will still center around a specific thesis but go deeper into all the things that happened that allowed the film to exist in the first place.
My plan is to produce 1 deep dive video per month starting in May. The first film i'm going to deep dive on is going to be Michael Mann's HEAT.
The second thing i'm working on is a second channel. That channel will launch next month and i'm really excited about. I will have more info on it in the coming weeks.
Thank you all once again for your continued support.

The next two videos I'm working on are Donnie Dark and The Crow. I did a video on Eternal Sunshine a few months ago but looking back I realized I hated my thesis so I'm working on a different take. I'm also open to suggestions. One film that's been on my radar is Under The Silver Lake. If there is a film you want me to do at some point please feel free to let me know.

Hey all - my first post on the community page. I want to first start off by saying how much i appreciate the support i've received from so many people in such a short amount of time. Earlier last year, I had a few changes in my life which led me in search of a new creative outlet that I very much needed. I've written screenplays on spec in the past as an outlet and thought instead, why not write video essays on some of my favorite films.
Never in my wildest dreams did i ever think that i would be pushing towards 3K subs after only 8 months of running the channel. I want to thank everyone who has subscribed and thank everyone who's left any comments positive or negative.
