Running in Japan

Currently celebrating. I’m reconnecting with the mothership on May 23, 2027. The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon will be Africa’s first World Marathon Major, and I’m so excited to take part in it.

Running in Japan

My 2025 ‪@stravainc‬ Year In Sport! I overcame a few injuries, but I rested up and pushed on. Nothing wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for the Holy Spirit backing me, telling me, I still got this if I believe. I believed. This year is off to a promising start.

To God be the glory. All my sacrifices and successes are done in Jesus name.

Oh, and PS. When I get this Tokyo Marathon finisher medal 🏅, Jesus told me I can keep it, as long as I make sure to tell everyone it was Him who won it. I’m just its caretaker. Can I get an amen?

They didn’t believe in me… but God did!

What is your top running shoe of 2025? I can only list four options. If your shoe is not listed, type your answer in the comment section.

So I already reviewed two earbuds on this channel for the purpose of running with, the Beats Fit Pro and the Powerbeats Pro 2. Now I review the Apple AirPods Pro 3. Want to see how they stack up? Watch the video: https://youtu.be/cpiD4cE-OCo?si=-Inc1...

CHANNEL UPDATE: Hello ladies and gentlemen, long time no see, no speak. I didn’t abandon you, and I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long—it saddens me.

I’ve been gone for around six weeks, possibly more, with no uploads. It hurts me because not only was my channel gaining traction, but at the time I made my last upload, I was at my physical peak and only getting better week after week.

Truth is, I’ve been truly injured, both legs, in two freak accidents in which neither involved running.

A parked bicycle fell on just above my right ankle and I was too slow to catch it to break the fall. It caused blunt trauma hematoma (internal bleeding) above my ankle. I feel I’m at 80–90% recovery with that.

The second injury occurred exactly two weeks after the first. I was on my way to Haneda airport. Going up an escalator with my luggage, I made it to the lip at the top. I kicked my roller luggage to get it over that lip and as I pushed off, I rolled my ankle.

I can’t tell you how upset I am at myself. I’ve lost so much stamina and opportunities over the course of this time. I refrained from running (doctors orders) because both of my injuries were serious enough that if I ran, I would have made both worse.

I finally feel like I made it to a point where I may test the waters with only a 20 minute run soon. If it goes well, I’ll increase the time and mileage. But at the time I got hurt, I was already marathon ready.

This month I registered for the Tokyo Marathon. I hope not only do I win the lottery for this, but I pray and hope to get marathon ready again by March 2026. Pray for me.

Hope to see you all again soon. I miss this community.

Running in Japan

Where have I been? About two weeks ago I went to a free public event supported by New Balance: RUNNER'S PARK TOKYO:
Run your way Park at Meiji Park/Japan National “Olympic” Stadium. I learned lots of good, new for me stretches there.

Later that same week… injury. Strong winds blew down a parked bicycle on my leg just above the ankle hard. Before you ask. I’m okay. Blunt trauma injury to my leg. I will recover in two weeks minimum, maybe a little longer. In the meantime, no running for two weeks 😭. Cycling okay.

Additionally, also I’m moving this week so no videos. Busy packing. Hope to be back on the video editing grind in two weeks.

Thank you for your continued support. Please watch some older videos until new ones arrive 🙏🏾.

My latest video, "The Ugly Truth About Free Shoes and Running YouTubers 👟😬" has blown up about as big and fast as one of 50 Cent's early songs, "How to Rob." Did you watch this video yet? What do you think? Do you trust sponsored shoe reviews?

Running in Japan

I went beyond my goal yesterday and completed a half marathon in training. Y’all just don’t understand the pain I go through to feel accomplished.

Runners’ injuries are painful. I’ve gone through runners knee, runners toe, and runners nipple. Yesterday, I added a new experience, chafing. The friction I caused my thighs feels like I literally got burned by fire. I put some rubbing alcohol this morning on the soreness and hollered!

I was supposed to do a recovery run tonight (right now), but I definitely think I’m going to skip that to rest.

I don’t know why I continue to run. I’ve accomplished so much in the sport. I had a goal that I set out to do in Jesus name, to do it and give Him the glory (He’s the only reason I accomplished it). That was last year. Why am I still doing this?

Last week I did 33K in one session and had a similar conversation with myself about quitting, I felt a little burn out, but I stuck through it.

Will this pass or will I continue, I don’t know.
