Fire Halts Flights at Dhaka Airport Cargo Area

A major fire broke out in the cargo area of Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday, prompting a full suspension of flight operations.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence of Bangladesh, 32 firefighting units—including teams from the Air Force and Civil Aviation Authority—were dispatched. Fourteen units are currently on site, with 18 more en route.
Authorities confirmed that all aircraft are safe. The cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage are still unknown. Emergency teams are working to contain the blaze, and flight operations remain suspended until further notice.
