*ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రతి సంవత్సరం జూన్ 21ను అంతర్జాతీయ యోగా దినోత్సవంగా జరుపుకుంటున్నారు. యోగా అనేది కేవలం శారీరక వ్యాయామం మాత్రమే కాదు; శరీరం, మనస్సు, ప్రాణం, ఆత్మను ఏకం చేసే భారతీయ ఋషుల అమూల్యమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక వారసత్వం. ఈ మహోన్నత యోగ సంప్రదాయంలో అత్యంత ప్రసిద్ధమైన, సంపూర్ణమైన సాధన సూర్య నమస్కారం.*

*ఉదయించే సూర్యుడు కేవలం మనకు వెలుతురు, వేడిని మాత్రమే ఇవ్వడు. ఆయన జీవశక్తికి, ప్రాణశక్తికి, చైతన్యానికి ప్రతీక. అందుకే భారతీయ ఋషులు సూర్యారాధనను అత్యున్నత నిత్యసాధనగా భావించారు.*

*చాలామంది సూర్య నమస్కారం అంటే శరీర వ్యాయామం అనుకుంటారు. కానీ యోగశాస్త్రం ప్రకారం ఇది శరీరం, మనస్సు, ప్రాణం, ఆత్మను సమన్వయం చేసే సంపూర్ణ యోగసాధన.*

*సూర్య నమస్కారంలోని 12 భంగిమలు కేవలం కండరాలను బలపరచడానికే కాదు; మన శరీరంలోని ప్రధాన నాడులను, శక్తి కేంద్రాలను (చక్రాలను) మేల్కొలిపేందుకు రూపొందించబడ్డాయి. ప్రతి భంగిమతో పాటు సూర్యుని 12 నామాలను స్మరిస్తూ సాధన చేస్తే, అది యోగంతో పాటు ఉపాసన కూడా అవుతుంది.*

*ఉదయించే సూర్యుని వైపు ముఖం చేసి నమస్కరించడం వల్ల శరీరంలోని ప్రాణశక్తి సమతుల్యమవుతుంది. మనస్సు ప్రశాంతంగా మారుతుంది. ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం, ఏకాగ్రత, ఉత్సాహం పెరుగుతాయి. అందుకే యోగులు దీనిని "రోజును దైవస్మరణతో ప్రారంభించే సాధన"గా అభివర్ణించారు.*

*వేదాలు సూర్యుడిని ప్రత్యక్ష దైవం అని పేర్కొంటాయి. సూర్యుడు జ్ఞానానికి ప్రతీక. చీకటిని తొలగించే శక్తి ఆయనది. అలాగే మనలోని అజ్ఞానాన్ని తొలగించి, వివేకాన్ని వెలిగించే శక్తికి కూడా సూర్యుడు ప్రతీక.*

*ఈ అంతర్జాతీయ యోగా దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా ఉదయం సూర్య నమస్కారం చేసి, అనంతరం "ఓం ఘృణిః సూర్యాయ నమః" లేదా ఆదిత్య హృదయం నుండి కొన్ని శ్లోకాలు పఠిస్తే, శరీరానికి శక్తి, మనస్సుకు ప్రశాంతత, జీవితానికి సానుకూల దృక్పథం లభిస్తుందని మన ఋషులు బోధించారు.*

*గుర్తుంచుకోండి... సూర్య నమస్కారం కేవలం శరీరాన్ని వంచే సాధన కాదు... అహంకారాన్ని వంచి, దైవచైతన్యానికి నమస్కరించే ఆధ్యాత్మిక యజ్ఞం.*

*ఈ అంతర్జాతీయ యోగా దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా యోగాన్ని కేవలం ఒకరోజు కార్యక్రమంగా కాకుండా, జీవితకాల సాధనగా స్వీకరిద్దాం. ప్రతి ఉదయాన్ని సూర్యభగవానునికి ఒక నమస్కారంతో ప్రారంభిద్దాం. ఆ ఒక్క నమస్కారం మన శరీరానికే కాదు... మన మనస్సుకు, మన ఆత్మకు, మన జీవిత దిశకు కూడా వెలుగునిస్తుంది.*
