If you haven't seen it, I've uploaded my video on The Killer https://youtu.be/xRsq67R0MrI

Lots of behind the scenes fights to get this one uploaded. Hope the edits and framerate don't bother many people, this was the hardest I've had to fight just to keep a video capable of being seen! Tell me what film or genre would you like to see next?

Hey all, bad news. I had planned on uploading the latest video today. A video covering John Woo's The Killer (1989). It is finished and I had all of the ancillary stuff done to support it, but it was hit with a content ID claim. Normally, that is fine. If the original film creators want to claim the work that uses their footage, I won't fight too hard. I get it, I edited their footage and made something else, but it was indeed their footage. So, yeah, they can keep the peanuts that the video will make and I'll just keep building up the channel.

Unfortunately, this content ID claim also blocks the video in 56% of all territories my videos are watched from. This includes the US and the UK. So, ultimately the video would be seen by very few.

I’ve filed a dispute, but those can take up to 30 days to resolve, so for now I’m in limbo.

Best case, the claim gets released and I can upload the video. Worst case, I’ll have to decide whether to completely rework it or move on to the next one.

Either way, I wanted to keep you posted.

I finally made the video I’ve been wanting to make on The Beyond.

This movie stuck with me since the early internet days, and not for the reasons people usually talk about.

It’s that strange, empty feeling the whole film has. Joe Bob Briggs, not that long ago, said a few things about Lucio Fulci not being an artsy kind of guy. He likened him to a journeyman director who surrounded himself by talented people. While he certainly did surround himself with talented creatives, I think he was a very intentional and often brilliant filmmaker.

Would love to hear your take on it.

Hope everyone is enjoying the video on The Prodigal Son.
Next up, we’re diving into another corner of cinema that people tend to misunderstand... Italian horror.
Kung Fu isn’t going anywhere. But Weird Cinema has a lot of dark hallways to explore.

Hey all! Sorry it has been a bit since the last video. I worked on a different project for much of the year, but am hard at work on new content for WC right now. Have three projects in the works. One fully scripted, one partially scripted, and one, a dream project of mine, I am building assets for.

Up next will probably be a small video, something different than my normal. It’ll be in the realm of kung fu and is much more focused on a single film rather than the insane deep dives. I hope that you guys like it and I hope it does well enough to justify more videos of its sort.

Anyway, that’s all. Hope you all had an awesome holiday and are having a great new year!

Hey all!

So, the last video did pretty terrible, no way to sugarcoat it. I don’t think it was a terrible video, not at all, but it had very little reason for people to click. No heart, no story, nothing to grab the viewer unless they were already seasoned CAT III fans. So, I’m taking it back to the drawing board. I’ve privated the video and will be re-structuring it as something new. To the 400 of you that watched it, I’m sorry to say that the next video (whenever it may be) will have a lot of the same content. However, there will be an entirely new arch and a lot of new content for you to enjoy if you choose to come back for seconds!

Likely releasing the latest video tomorrow, unless things change. “The REAL Crimes Behind Hong Kong’s Darkest Films.” The continuation of our examination of the wild world of CAT III films. I hope you guys enjoy it. It is a departure of sorts from my most recent videos, but the comments on the last CAT III video inspired me to make this. It has a darker tone than my normal, but it isn’t malicious or anything. It just covers movies that dealt with some very harsh content.

Finally done! Watch the damn-near feature length documentary-style video on Kung Fu star Jimmy Wang Yu! An actor stabbed 7 times, and then saw his attacker receive twice as many stabbings in return. He was Bruce Lee's cinematic rival, and they even worked at the same studio! Discover how he met his first wife by winning her away from her husband, and how he soon took his own life because of it. Jimmy's story is insane! Check it out!

Tentatively finished the Jimmy Wang Yu video today. Will watch and re-watch it, looking for any possible mistakes. Hope to have it ready by this weekend! 1hr and 4minutes of arduously researched insanity.
