Exactly a year ago today, something unfathomable happened to me. And while I still struggle to make sense of what happened that day, I'm so proud of how far I've come despite the odds. They say the universe has a strange way of giving and taking, and how lucky I am to be pulled away from something that I thought was for me.

Instead of mourning what I lost (which will never be my loss to begin with), I want to celebrate all of my loved ones who read every message, listened to every voice note, replied with even longer voice notes, and did everything they could despite the distance. I never felt alone in this era because all of you carried me when I couldn't, and that's always what makes me cry when I look back. How lucky I am to have all of you because who am I really? imjustagirl 🥹

One day I will be brave enough to share my story but I’m just taking it one day at a time for now. No more social media blackout for me, I’m back and ready 🖋️ 📹🤳🏻

First time to watch Disney’s Frozen in the West End and was super lucky to have caught the PRIDE SPECIAL last June 28 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Set to leave Theatre Royal Drury Lane by the end of this summer (Sept 8,2034), this frosted wonderland has enjoyed 3 stunning years in London’s Theatre land.

I knew that a Disney production would be polished but NOT TO THIS LEVEL. Using a mix of modern techniques, the production packs even MORE magic than the movie. Just for scale, there’s a 65-ft bridge that is used JUST ONCE and summer elements set just for one song (Olaf’s Summer song). The finest puppetry I’ve seen—that is I haven’t been to see Lion Kong YET.

Of course, Let It Go closes off Act 1 with all the crystals and goosebumps you can expect. No doubt a 5-Star production, I wish I saw it sooner but if you have a chance, do try to catch the cold before they leave! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One thing I miss the most about living in Asia is having Boba Milktea readily available from any corner 😢 Plus, nothing beats Taiwanese milktea! Luckily, Purcha was Born in Taiwan but is freshly brewed in London 💕 They even have the nori chicken popcorn and bubble waffles to match! if you’re feeling extra homesick, this is the place to be 🤤 Loved being invited to try out their offerings and will definitely be back for more!

⭐️ FINALLY IN THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENED 🙉 One of the “cons” of living in the UK is putting off watching your favorite shows because they’re always just there anyway! My first (and surely not the last!) visit to the Victoria Palace to watch the West End’s Hamilton.

While the pro-shot is on Disney+, nothing comes close to seeing it live. The energy, the pulse, the click-boom, will leave you more than Satisfied ✨

While the material itself dunks a lot on the British Empire, a predominantly British audience knows how to take a joke. Watching on a Monday night, it wasn’t the liveliest crowd but the performances were stunning, I was on my feet the moment Eliza does her gasp ⭐️

Merch: This just might be the most reasonably priced merch in the West End. I got a card sleeve (£4) and a set of pins (£8) for just £12!

THE LOVE AND LOSS OF STEPHEN SONDHEIM 🎭 as much as i want to call this a farewell tribute show, there’s really no saying goodbye to Stephen Sondheim , his genius, and his impact on theatre. Old Friends is a selection of Sondheim bangers headlined by THE Bernadette Peters and our very own Lea Salonga 🇵🇭 Not to discount the rest of the Company who Side by Side by Side, performed some of our Sondheim favorites. A wonderful celebration of Steve’s life and works, showcasing his range as an artist ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

And while there was Comedy Tonight, Clowns were sent in, and we Merrily Rolled Along, the show hits an emotional peak when Peters, well-known as one of Sondheim’s muses, sings “Not a Day Goes By” with a compilation of photographs of Steve in the background. Already a heartbreaking song, it’s crushing to hear it in this context and Peters’ shattering delivery “Not a day goes by, not a single day but you're somewhere a part of my life and it looks like you'll stay as the days go by”.

I kid you not, me and the rest of The Gielgud had to hold back our tears 🥹 Aside from a shared love for Sondheim, we also share a massive sense of loss and gratitude (Sorry/Grateful) for the theatre giant. While he was someone we didn’t personally know, his work has touched our lives one way or another. What an emotional ride! 🫣🥹🥺😅

This is my first last-show matinee 🎭 Also, kudos to those who got the Easter Eggs on this caption 🪺🤭
