I always knew mothers sacrifice a lot in their role as mothers. After few years of working for vulnerable mothers and mothers without good financial means and support, I can only say that there is a thing line between the sacrifices of mothers and the sufferings of mothers.

If you are a woman, pray against such sufferings. God forbid bad thing!!! Work hard, choose a kind and wise partner, and be intentional to avoid such suffering.

And if you are a man who has a mother or has put someone in a "mother" way, please be kind not to burden them with any suffering!!!!!

The office of the Legal Aid Commission is a government office with lawyers who provide legal services for the poor in Ghana.

Many people have shared how they benefited from the Office. With time, I will highlight all of the different ways you can benefit from Legal Aid,

One of the ways is what Lawyer Emmanuel Dennison shared. People think that all government offices have workers in surplus who are just idle and do not work but that is not the situation at Legal Aid Commission.

The number of lawyers at Legal Aid does not match the number of poor people who actually need our services. For eg. Central Region has two lawyers at the Legal Aid Office. We are usually overwhelmed with work.

So when a poor person goes to a lawyer's office and the lawyer confirms that he or she is actually poor and deserving of help, the lawyer writes to the Legal Aid office for us to assign the case to him for help.

I had this relative who used to tell me that he doesn't like lawyers because we defend people who have committed crimes. He always said that immediately we arrest anyone like that for a crime, we should just burrrrn the person.

Then one day, he was arrested with a group of people for murder. The circumstances made it soo believable that he was guilty but he was 1000% innocent

He spent about two months in police custody and people shared his pictures in the news that he was being charged with murder.

The only grace he had was that the person who actually committed the crime confessed.

Imagine if he had been burned when everyone thought he was guilty.

After his release, I have never heard him say anything bad about lawyers who defend people like that again.

Recently, I saw a video of a lady who was physically abused by the police and forced by police to sign a police statement which stated that she was guilty. The police officer actually cut part of his ears off. This is not the first and this is not going to be the last.

Lawyers help to reduce the errors in the justice system.

Every judge wants to be sure that when he sentences someone to life imprisonment or twenty years imprisonment, that person was ACTUALLY guilty.

Do not hate lawyers for doing this work for our common good.

Today, you may be shouting...."instant justice!!!!" but tomorrow, you may be the innocent one in need of rescue.

If you keep calling lawyers bad names for helping people charged with crimes, the day you will need help, no proper lawyer will be willing to come to you aid.
