🎤 Throwback Tuesday: Before the Babies, There Was This…
Found this more than a decade old gem the other day.
This is me (somewhere in the back, trying to look cool) and the future Mrs. Musumba (somewhere in the front, looking like the no-nonsense, out-of-my-league A-Level genius she was).
This was our school choir performing for a massive East African Evangelistic Campaign, broadcast live by satellite! We spent weeks mastering Solfa Notation—a new language that felt harder than Organic Chemistry. Our real motivation? Not the music, but the chance to skip a whole day of classes! The energy was electric, singing alongside legends like Ambassadors of Christ. We truly thought we were stars.
The best part? I tried pulling the old "This is how I met your mother" with this picture on our five-year-old son, Reuel, this weekend.
Me: "See, buddy? Look how young Daddy was! Can you spot your mother?"
Reuel: (Squinting, searching for a full minute) "She's not there, Dad. They are all boys."
Me: "Why do you think they’re all boys, son?"
Reuel: "Because they are all wearing ties."
I have been spectacularly humbled by a five-year-old. The man isn't wrong—apparently, a necktie is the universal gender marker.
The Question for you the Internet:
* Spot the wife: Can you find the then future Mrs. Musumba among this serious student crowd? Drop a comment when you find her!
Parenting Fails: What's the most brutally honest, hilarious thing your kids have ever said about a throwback photo of you?

𝐌𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝.
She doesn’t just cook—she 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 herself. When she’s in her best mood, we get the privilege of being first tasters of what I can only call world-class recipes.
But has it always been this way?
YES and NO.
Let’s just say... her chapatis back then were straight out of the Passover season—"Break Thou the Bread of Life" type. You drop one and it rolls like a tyre. True story.
But look at God—today, her chapos are soft, golden, and addictive!
I used to eat those pasaka chapos with a smile, only giving feedback much later… you know, when the stars aligned, mood was calm, and there were no knives in reach.
Sometimes we forget to count the 999 five-star meals just because one stew had a little more salt or one meal flopped.
Let’s learn to see the bigger picture. Growth takes time. Love takes patience. And good food? It takes practice.
Appreciate your person. Laugh about the hard chapos, but don’t forget to celebrate the chef they’ve become.

Here’s a great YouTube post that’s engaging and encourages interaction:
Married but keeping separate finances? Be honest… are you really a team or just fancy roommates with wedding rings?
Marriage isn’t about “mine” and “yours.” It’s OURS—spiritually, morally, and legally. If one eats, we both eat. If one saves, we both save. If one is broke… well, we’re both in financial warfare together!
When you shift from “me” to “we,” everything changes:
💰 You set goals together.
💭 You dream together.
🤝 You carry the weight together.
🗣️ You actually communicate (yes, even about money!).
Nothing builds unity like winning—or struggling—together.
Married folks, let’s settle this—do you and your partner share finances or keep them separate? Drop your thoughts in the comments! 👇

Have you ever prayed and doubted? This is yours.
If you are there and doubt God's might, we are a testimony of His goodness. Don't give up—your year of jubilee is around the corner, and you shall testify. Trust His heart and trust the process.
When we had just started dating, my husband and I knew it would be a risk for us to have a child, as we had been told that due to my back condition, having a child was the last thing we should think about. But still, we had a desire to have children of our own. Against the odds on our table, we took our desires and worries to God in prayer.
Our prayer was: If it is His will, a baby would be so much appreciated. Along with the wish of having twins, we yielded to having one—at least. I mean, we should be grateful and, besides, one asking has to accept what’s offered.
Fast forward, we got married, and 7 months down the line, I felt funny, and guess what? Our first prayer for a child had been answered. We were thrilled and yet excited and confused at the same time. As always, we talked to God about it. Later the following year, we had our most treasured gift—the first fruit of my womb—in the most dramatic and traumatic way. However, we were glad to hold the precious one and later learned that it had to be that way to appreciate God more.
Parenting was fantastic; we were so enchanted, and it was blissful. Not to say we had no sleepless nights, but the smiles and laughter were worth it all. We had a blast with this precious little boy.
When he turned 3, I was ready to try for another baby. Getting my husband to agree was a struggle because he felt it was too much to ask and also worried it would be as traumatic as before. We prayerfully talked it through, and one day he came home and told me he was ready—and so was I.
It seemed so obvious that I’d conceive again (humans forget). So, I was on routine "game nights" in search of another baby, but in vain. All tests came back negative for 5 months. In the midst of all the frustration, I was reminded by my husband that it was in God’s power, and He knows the right time. So, we’ve prayed; let’s trust Him with this.
I was praying so much for twins and, specifically, for identical twin girls. My husband, on the other hand, was like, “You’re asking for way too much—I’m not joining you on this!” So, I convinced our son to help pray for a miracle of baby sisters.
Fast forward, I graciously got pregnant in the 6th month of trial and was excited. On the 8th of November 2023, after testing positive, 2 days later, I started bleeding. This was a nightmare. I panicked, prayerfully telling God, “This can’t be.”
The sac had a 78% separation. I was put on complete bed rest. Oh, I was worried but hopeful. I later battled hyperemesis gravidarum. I was under the weather but kept pushing.
On the 16th of January 2024, I had the best news of my life. The sac had reattached, and there were 2 fetal hearts in it! Yes! They were twins! I was overjoyed. Fast forward, I stayed on bed rest.
The journey was truly bumpy. In May, on our 5th anniversary, we found out their gender, and man oh man—God is amazing. Later, in July, God decided it was time. On the 9th, I had two most beautiful baby girls.
God answered my prayers to the dot. Just like I said, if you have ever doubted, it’s human. This is a reminder for you to trust again. Blessings and Happy new year 2025.
