Sapiens Vs. Neanderthals



So, Neanderthals lived in Europe and Asia two hundred thousand years ago. In some areas, they lived even more so for rounding off the figure. We can say that they were available in some regions thirty thousand years ago.

Well, it is very fascinating to think about how Archaeologists research this stuff. You don’t even remember your great Grandparent’s brother’s name. Look how far these people are gone with their research; now we know about our Past. We also know where and when everything about our evolution happened.

Our happy ancestors Sapiens originated in Africa during the last two hundred and fifty thousand years ago. They spread all over in last sixty thousand years ago.

But our ancestors were more of a family man. But Neanderthals were hunters, and they had more extraordinary survival instincts than our ancestors.

Neanderthals or Sapiens
So today, we are going to discuss our Ancestors, Neanderthals or Sapiens. Why do Neanderthals not exist? Whose Descendents are we and also Who were Neanderthals?
Don't confuse yourself because science is never confusing. We are not descended from Adam and Eve. Our ancestors were so disconnected and religiously different, but scientifically we all have the same ancestors.
Consider this as a team match.
Some thousand years ago, there were two species, existed on the face of this planet earth. Neanderthals and Sapiens.
You must have heard the word Sapiens, or at least you know from your primary school books that we are Homo sapiens.
So, what question arises in your mind?
I know because I had the same question in my mind when I wanted to learn about our history.
You must be confused with Who these Neanderthals are and who these Sapiens are.

Creativity of Neanderthals


Don't consider yourself too smart. We Homo Sapiens are cunning, and only because of this do we are survived, but Neanderthals were Creative. They drew drawings, and they were complex for them because you cannot expect a Graphic design.
Their legs were thicker, and muscles were wider, and it allowed them to travel for 50 km to find their meal. They were 5%-20% stronger than today's humans.
They prefer to hunt the bigger and heavier animals than their size and weight, but they were good hunters. They hunted Mammoths, and these beasts were 11 feet tall and 6 tons in weight.
Neanderthals used to make gloves, shoes, and clothes from the skin of animals they have hunted and weapons from the bones of animals. They were very creative in Arts.
Still, confused between Neanderthals and Sapiens?
In Hobbit Movie, that King Thorin and Bilbo were Neanderthals. But the Aragon from Lord of the Rings was a Homo Sapiens.

How Neanderthals were?

They were our sister species, and they don't exist in today's world, so don't confuse yourself. This is like studying your Ancient Uncle crushed by your father and survived only because of your father. In this case, your father is Homo sapiens, and your uncle is Neanderthals. It looks like Uncle's legacy is no more.
Their DNA is different from ours, but I have already mentioned how their threads of partial DNA still existed inside us and what changes they bought inside us. You can say, only because the partly neanderthal DNA inside you allows your Armpit hairs to grow, and if you are a male and have a good beard, then thanks to Neanderthals.

How Exactly were Neanderthals different than us?

Our ancestors, from whom we have evolved ourselves. They are known as Homo Sapiens, and that is a Latin name, it means A Wise Man.
But Neanderthals were different species of humans, and this is really interesting to think why there is no other species of humans left on this planet, Only Sapiens.
Even for Tigers, Panthera-Tigris, there are 8 subspecies. If this is not blowing your mind, then I don't think that anything else can.
Neanderthals were named after the first Archeological evidence that modern humans found in a German valley called Neander. Since then, we are calling this sister branch species of ours the Neanderthals.

A Prelog to Anthropology

Anthropology ensures us that Adam was not our ancestor. There was no role of Noah in saving the species that inhabited this planet.
Bible says Noah's Ark was 140 meters long. Still, Bible also says Noah saved millions of the species, which is technically impossible. Because the Ark of Noah was 525 feet in length, 87 feet in breadth, and 52 feet in height, for the sight of comparison, I must tell you, an Airplane Boeing 747 is 71 meters long, and only 467 maximum passengers can sit in this Airplane. But considering the Ark of Noah is twice the size as this Airplane, we can comfortably conclude that Noah's Ark cannot hold more than 1500 passengers.
In the First book Genesis, it is mentioned that "bring a pair of every kind of animal - a male and a female - into the boat with you to keep them alive during the flood. Pairs of every kind of bird, and every kind of animal, and every kind of small animal that scurries along the ground, will come to you to be kept alive. And be sure to take on board enough food for your family and all the animals. So, Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him."
Christians believe that there were at least fifty thousand species in that Noah's Ark.
So, you might be wondering why I mentioned all of this?
The science explains that Noah's Ark can't fit this many numbers Species in one Ark, That Ark was twice smaller than the Titanic. But it is Biological Anthropology that thinks it is possible to witness these much wider varieties of Species with just the fifty thousand species saved by Noah. Because current Encyclopedia says, there are 2 million discovered species in the world. However, there are an estimated 15 million different species live on this planet that is still unknown.

In our previous blog, we have discussed the introduction of a nuclear power plant. In today’s blog, we will discuss nuclear power plant, the advantages of nuclear power plant, and the disadvantages of nuclear power plant.

There are many advantages of the nuclear power plant over other power plants; let’s discuss them one by one.

Uranium (U-235) is mostly used as a fuel for nuclear power plants. The amount of fuel required is quite small, so there is no transportation and storage problem.
The demand for coal, oil, and gas is reduced due to radioactive material as a fuel, and the requirement for this fuel is very less.
These plats require less size of erecting area than the other plants of the same size, for ex. For example, a 2000MW nuclear power plant requires 80 acres, whereas the coal fire (steam) power plant of the same size requires about 250 acres.
The nuclear power plant can be located near the load center because the fuel requirement is less, so transportation costs are reduced, reducing primary distribution costs.
In addition to producing a large amount of power, the nuclear power plant can produce valuable fissile material extracted when the fuel has to be renewed.
These plants are more economical for large capacity, i.e., 100MVA and more.
The nuclear power plant has very flexible output control. I.e., the output can be adjusted to zero to the upper limit. And this limit is set by the capacity of the heat removal system to prevent the overheating of the pile.
These plants ensure the continuous supply of electricity as the availability of nuclear fuel is large worldwide.
The nuclear power plant is very neat and clean and is hospital quiet. In contrast, other plants like steam power plants require thousands of tons of coal per day, and handling this coal creates mud, sludge, and gumbo.
The operating cost is quite low and once the installation is completed. The loading of the power plant will have no effect on the generation cost. Therefore a nuclear power plant is always operated as a base load plant. Nuclear power plants are usually not operated at a load factor less than 0.8 (load factor expresses the amount of energy utilized in a specific period).

There are many advantages of nuclear power, but every coin has two sides, so nuclear power plants also have many serious and harmful drawbacks.
The nuclear power plant's initial cost is very high compared to other power plants.
While erecting the nuclear power plant, experienced technicians are needed.
A byproduct of a fission reaction is generally radioactive and may cause dangerous radioactive pollution.
Nuclear power plants are not well suited for varying loads since the reactor does not respond to load fluctuations efficiently.
The fuel used is expensive and difficult to recover because the cost of uranium is much higher than the cost of other fuels used in a power plant, such as coal or oil, etc.
Maintenance charges are high owing to the lack of standardization; the Salary bill of the maintenance staff is also high as specially trained personals are required to handle the plant. Also, operating a nuclear power plant sometimes becomes difficult and also needs experienced personals.
The disposal of radioactive products is a big problem. They have either to be disposed of off in a deep trench or in a sea away from seashore because these radioactive materials are harmful to us and can cause serious damage to the human system.
The cooling water requirements of the nuclear power plant are very heavy (more than twice the water required for the same sized coal-fired steam power plant). Hence cooling towers required for nuclear power plants are larger and costlier than conventional steam power plants.
