City of San Leandro

The City of San Leandro is committed to helping residents reduce household energy costs. As part of our Housing Element goals, we promote programs that make home energy efficiency upgrades more affordable — especially for lower-income households.

One opportunity available to eligible homeowners is BayREN’s EASE Home program.

EASE Home helps income-qualified single-family homeowners improve comfort and lower energy bills with upgrades like insulation and duct sealing. BayREN covers 80% of core project costs, with households paying no more than $1,000 total, and manages the process from start to finish.

You may qualify if you:

• Live in a single-family home (up to 4 units) built before 2010
• Are a PG&E (or local CCA) customer
• Have household income at or below 120% AMI

If you’re looking for ways to make your home more energy efficient and reduce monthly costs, this program may be a good fit.

A proposed statewide ballot initiative could reduce funding used to support services San Leandro residents rely on every day.

City estimates indicate the measure could reduce San Leandro's voter-approved Real Property Transfer Tax revenue by approximately 95 percent, resulting in an annual loss of about $9.3 million.

What does that mean for San Leandro? It could affect funding available for public safety, street maintenance, parks, recreation programs, library services, senior services, and other general City services.

Review the graphic for a summary of the proposed measure and visit SanLeandro.org/RPTTRevenue to learn more.
