Israeli Police Escalate Measures Against Four Landmarks of Masjid al-Aqsa

Over recent weeks and months, the Israeli occupation police have intensified efforts to empty and take control of a number of landmarks within Masjid al-Aqsa under false security pretexts. The latest site affected is the Dome of Musa, located in the south-western section of Masjid al-Aqsa. This brings the total number of targeted facilities to four, all of which previously served as administrative offices for the Jordanian Islamic Waqf.

The occupation authorities claim security concerns as justification for these actions. These claims are then used to enter the facilities, break their locks, prevent replacement locks from being installed, and leave the buildings exposed. Anyone attempting to enter is subsequently pursued and removed under allegations that the premises were used for activities deemed a "security concern".

This approach bears similarities to the restrictions imposed on the Bab al-Rahmah Musalla between 2003 and 2019, before attempts were made to seize control of it. As a result, these developments must be viewed as a precursor to the gradual appropriation of these four facilities and an attempt to place them under the control and administration of the occupation police, while also disrupting the work of the Waqf departments operating within them.

The Four Targeted Facilities

1. The Dome of Imam al-Ghazali, located above the roof of the Bab al-Rahmah Musalla.

2. Dar al-Hadith al-Sharif, situated in the north-eastern area of Masjid al-Aqsa between Bab al-Rahmah and Bab al-Asbat.

3. The Dome of Sulayman, located in the northern area of Masjid al-Aqsa opposite Bab al-Malik Faisal.

4. The Dome of Musa, situated in the south-western area of Masjid al-Aqsa parallel to Bab al-Silsilah.

Why These Developments Matter

Firstly: The selection of facilities located at the four corners of Masjid al-Aqsa is not coincidental. It appears to form part of a wider effort to extend the occupation police's control over the Masjid's facilities and landmarks, while gradually positioning itself as the defacto authority in place of the Jordanian Islamic Waqf. The implications of these measures extend far beyond their immediate effects.

Secondly: These developments represent a direct challenge to the Islamic administration of Masjid al-Aqsa, whose custodianship is entrusted to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on behalf of the Muslim Ummah through historical documentation and international legal recognition. Addressing this threat requires a serious and comprehensive strategy that goes beyond individual and joint statements of condemnation.

Thirdly: Masjid al-Aqsa faces an existential threat, and responsibility for its protection is shared across the Arab and Muslim world. Statements of condemnation alone cannot constitute a protection strategy. Meaningful action requires a unified approach that confronts the ongoing attempts to alter the identity, administration and status of one of the Ummah's most sacred sites.

Fourthly: While official institutions have their responsibilities, the continued steadfastness of the people of Palestine remains at the forefront of defending Masjid al-Aqsa. Supporting that steadfastness and keeping Masjid al-Aqsa at the centre of the Ummah's concerns has become an urgent responsibility. Scholars, organisations, activists and the wider Muslim public must continue to raise awareness, mobilise support and dedicate their efforts towards its protection and preservation.

#Kazakhstan Niqab Ban: Over 1,000 Muslim Women Punished For Wearing #Niqab

More than 1,000 Muslim women in Kazakhstan have been punished for covering their faces in public places, local media reports citing the Interior Ministry.

Since the law came into force in July 2035, 1,179 Muslim women have been held liable. For a first violation, only a warning is issued.

A repeated violation within one year carries a fine of about $77.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev described the Niqab as an “archaic form of clothing imposed on Kazakh women by radicalised neophytes”. He called it “a blatant challenge” to the country’s traditional values.

Female Islamic clothing and men’s beards have long been the focus of government campaigns in Central Asia, where secular governments fear the growing influence of #Islam.

This sister, Zohar Regev, was born into a Jewish family in Palestine 54 years ago and held “Israeli” citizenship. However, she later left the country, embraced Islam, and became one of those defending her brothers and sisters in Palestine and working to break the siege on Gaza.

She was recently arrested during her participation in the “Freedom Flotilla” solidarity mission. While most of the participating activists were released, Zohar remains in detention.

How magnificent is this religion: the moment this woman embraced Islam, she became our sister. We care about her situation, pray for her, and recognize our responsibility to strive for her release just as we would strive for the release of our own sisters of flesh and blood.

The 1948 Palestinian Nakba

Today marks 78 years since the Palestinian Nakba. On May 15, 1948, over 750,000 Palestinians were driven out of their homeland and over 500 Palestinian villages were destroyed by Zionist militias.

The day has been commemorated annually as Nakba Day. The word “Nakba” means “catastrophe” in Arabic, and refers to the systematic ethnic cleansing of two-thirds of the Palestinian population at the time by Zionist paramilitaries between 1947-1949 and the near-total destruction of Palestinian society.

Zionist forces had taken more than 78 percent of historic Palestine, ethnically cleansed and destroyed about 530 villages and cities, and killed about 15,000 Palestinians in a series of mass atrocities, including more than 70 massacres.

The Nakba continues today!

🚨 Masjid al-Aqsa Under Intensified Restrictions and Escalating Violations

Thursday 14 May 2026

As part of what settler groups referred to as a “compensatory incursion” ahead of the Hebrew anniversary marking the occupation of Jerusalem, large numbers of right-wing settlers stormed Masjid al-Aqsa this morning under heavy armed protection.

During the incursions, settlers were seen performing the highly provocative ritual known as “epic prostration”, lying fully face-down upon the ground inside Masjid al-Aqsa. Settlers also gathered for study circles led by extremist rabbi Yehuda Glick in the eastern area of Masjid al-Aqsa, whilst groups were filmed singing and dancing to chants proclaiming, “The Temple will be built.”

Among those documented performing these rituals inside Masjid al-Aqsa was Israeli Knesset member Yitzhak Kroizer from Ben-Gvir’s “Jewish Power” party, accompanied by his children and his father, Rabbi Yehuda Kroizer, a long-time associate of the late extremist Meir Kahane.

It is important to understand that many of these rituals are not rooted in long-standing Torah practice connected to this recently introduced nationalist occasion. Rather, they are increasingly being used as political and symbolic tools to gradually impose a new reality within Masjid al-Aqsa, reshape its identity, and normalise overt Jewish religious rituals inside one of Islam’s holiest Masjids.

According to eyewitnesses from Jerusalem, occupation forces imposed severe restrictions upon Muslims from the early hours of the morning in order to empty Masjid al-Aqsa for the settlers:

• Men under the age of 60 and women under the age of 50 were prevented from entering from Fajr onwards.
• Muslim worshippers at the gates of Masjid al-Aqsa were assaulted, pushed, and forcibly removed.
• Muslims, including Awqaf staff, students, and worshippers, were forced into the covered prayer areas and buildings and prevented from remaining in the open areas of Masjid al-Aqsa.
• The total number of Muslims present inside Masjid al-Aqsa, including staff and students sitting final examinations, was reported to be around only 150 people, whilst settler numbers exceeded 200 within the first hour alone.
• Traders throughout the Old City were forced to shut their shops for the entire day to facilitate both the incursions and the planned flag march later in the evening.

Israeli settler platforms and Temple organisations also made clear that they do not even regard today’s incursion as the main event they had hoped for inside Masjid al-Aqsa, repeatedly referring to it as being merely “before Jerusalem Day”, in an indication that pressure continues to mount for an even larger incursion tomorrow, Friday morning.

The events unfolding in Masjid al-Aqsa should deepen our understanding of what is taking place, strengthen our attachment to this blessed Masjid, and move us towards meaningful action.

Every Muslim should strive to remain informed about the reality of Masjid al-Aqsa, speak about it within their homes and communities, teach their children about its virtue and status, support its people, make sincere du‘a, and visit whenever possible so that the bond between this Ummah and Masjid al-Aqsa is never weakened.

🚨 Masjid al-Aqsa Under Serious Threat This Friday

Tuesday 12 May 2026

A planned settler incursion into Masjid al-Aqsa on Friday 15 May 2026 is now being treated as a very real and imminent threat, after 22 senior Zionist politicians, including the Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of War, signed a petition demanding that Masjid al-Aqsa be opened for settler incursions on Friday.

Israeli Temple organisations published a new version of the petition yesterday, Monday 11 May 2026, addressed to Israeli Police Commissioner Dani Levy and Jerusalem District Police Commander Avshalom Peled, demanding that settlers be allowed to enter Masjid al-Aqsa on Friday 15 May 2026, marking the Hebrew anniversary of the occupation of Jerusalem.

The petition was signed by 22 Zionist politicians, 19 of whom belong to Netanyahu’s ruling Likud party, representing approximately 60% of the party’s Knesset bloc, alongside three members from the Religious Zionism party. Among the signatories are nine ministers, including Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Yariv Levin, Minister of War Israel Katz, as well as ministers responsible for media, health, energy, youth and sport, and others.

The petition repeats the same demands made in an earlier petition signed by 13 politicians and published by Temple organisations on 3 May 2026: that Masjid al-Aqsa be opened on Friday for settler incursions “in a manner expressing Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem”. It also proposes an alternative demand that, if Friday access is not approved, Masjid al-Aqsa should instead be opened for an exceptional additional incursion period on the evening of Thursday 14 May 2026.

With the involvement of increasingly senior political figures, and the Likud party now placing its full political weight behind this petition, it has become clear that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to demonstrate that the decision regarding incursions into Masjid al-Aqsa ultimately lies with him, rather than allowing National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir alone to dominate the political spectacle surrounding the ongoing Judaization measures being imposed upon Masjid al-Aqsa.

This escalation also recalls the events surrounding the Eid al-Adha incursions of 11 August 2019, when Netanyahu himself played a direct role in facilitating the incursion through political deception. His silence today regarding the proposed Friday incursion strongly indicates that preparations are once again underway to create the conditions necessary for imposing it.

In light of these developments, the proposed Friday incursion on 15 May must now be treated as a genuine and active danger. It is becoming increasingly apparent that the occupation authorities are moving towards allowing settler incursions into Masjid al-Aqsa on a Friday for the first time since its occupation in 1967.

"And who is more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah from being mentioned in His *Masjids* and strive towards their ruin?” - Surah al-Baqarah 2:114

This is not merely a political issue or a distant news story. Masjid al-Aqsa is a sacred trust connected to our faith and our identity. The normalisation of incursions, especially on a Friday, represents a dangerous escalation aimed at changing the reality of Masjid al-Aqsa step by step until the unacceptable becomes accepted.

Silence and inaction in the face of such injustice is what allows these realities to become established.
