Hi, I’m Marlie Hall — a former network TV news anchor who traded the newsroom for the nomad life. I didn’t just quit my career — I left behind the rules, routines, and expectations… to create a life of freedom through full-time travel.

On this channel, I share the real behind-the-scenes of what it takes to reinvent your life through travel — especially if you’re a woman who feels stuck, burned out, or just ready for something more.

Whether you’re dreaming of moving abroad, solo traveling for the first time, or building a lifestyle that’s bigger than your zip code — you’re in the right place.

Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica is beautiful…

But after living there for 3 months, whew 😅 … there are definitely some things people don’t mention on social media.

In my new video, I’m talking about:
• the reality of small-town life
• why Puerto can start feeling limiting fast
• and the topic that ALWAYS seems to trigger people in my comments 👀

Apparently, some folks think Black travelers shouldn’t discuss cultural dynamics, expat culture, or who actually lives in PV.

So… we’re getting into all of it.

Watch the video and tell me:
Am I wrong… or just honest? 👀

Have you ever traveled somewhere and felt a noticeable shift in how you were treated as a Black person?

The kind of thing that shows up in real, everyday interactions.

I talked about this in my latest video, and the comments are already interesting 👀

What’s been your experience?

You already know I’m big on reinventing your life through travel ✈️

Traveling more.
Living differently.
Doing things on your own terms.

But here’s the part people skip—your lifestyle can only expand as far as your income allows it to.

That’s why this conversation around job liberation matters.

This article features my friend Dr. Kimani Norrington-Sands from ‪@liftingasweclimbconsulting‬ and the work she’s doing to help women move beyond toxic or limiting work situations and start creating real options.

Because freedom isn’t just about where you live—it’s about how you live.

The 3rd Annual Job Liberation Summit for Black Women is included in the article if you want to look into it. It’s happening May 1st through May 3rd.

I was supposed to be on a flight to Bangkok…
I never even went to the airport.

Yeah. We need to talk.

Okay, I’m officially obsessed with the vibe here. The city is modern and bustling, the sun is hitting just right and I’m having the best time exploring.

Can you guess which city I’m in? 🔍✈️🌎

I’ll give you a hint: The food here is 10/10 and the people are even better. Drop your best guesses in the comments.

Can’t wait to tell you all about the city I’ll be calling home for the next few months. ✨

☀️2K Subs!!!☀️

🗑️ I was told I was "throwing it all away."

💼 The career. The status. The stability of the anchor desk. People thought I was losing my mind. But in reality? I was finally finding my soul.

🎉 I’m posting this today because we just hit 2K SUBSCRIBERS, and it feels like the perfect moment to say: Thank you for choosing the "real" me.

✍🏽 For years, I told other people’s stories. Now, I get to tell mine—and more importantly, I get to hold space for yours. Reaching 2,000 isn't a vanity metric for me. It’s 2,000 pieces of evidence that when you have the courage to walk away from what’s "expected," you find exactly where you’re supposed to be.

👔 If you’re living a life that feels like a tight suit—beautiful on the outside, but suffocating on the inside—let this be your sign.

✨To my first 2,000: Thank you for the freedom. We’re just getting started.✨

I’m in snowy NYC right now ❄️🗽

I’m also prepping for my next destination.
I’ve never been there before and I can’t wait to share it with you ✈️🌎

But in the meantime, I came across this short I did a while back and it gave me so much inspo🦋

Hope it will spark something in you too ✨💫
