Some places stay with you long after you've left, and Angkor Wat is one of them. Watching the sun rise over these ancient temples felt like stepping back in time. Grateful for the memories, the history, and the reminder that the world's most beautiful moments are often found far from home. 🌅🏛️✨ #AngkorWat #TravelMemories #Wanderlust

On this day in 1916, James Connolly and Seán Mac Diarmada were executed in Kilmainham Gaol for their leading roles in the Easter Rising. 🇮🇪
James Connolly was born in Edinburgh to Irish parents and became one of Ireland’s most important labour leaders and socialists. As Commandant-General of the Irish Citizen Army, he played a central role in planning the Rising and fought in the GPO during Easter Week. Seriously wounded during the fighting, Connolly was executed while tied to a chair due to his injuries.
Seán Mac Diarmada, born in County Leitrim, was a key organiser of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and worked tirelessly to build support for Irish independence across the country. He was one of the seven signatories of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic and fought in the GPO alongside the Rising’s leadership.
Their deaths became defining moments in Ireland’s struggle for freedom, and both men remain among the most remembered figures of 1916. 🇮🇪
