A distinguished delegation from the World Bank Headquarters, Washington D.C., visited Minhaj University Lahore and held a productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman Board of Governors, Minhaj University Lahore, and CEO, Al-Mawakhat Microfinance Company Limited.


The delegation was led by Mr. Frederico Ferreira Fonseca Pedroso and included Ms. Rubina Geizla Quamber and Mr. Muhammad Bilal Paracha.


During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on higher education, sustainable development, research collaboration, and opportunities for future academic and institutional cooperation. Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri highlighted the role of academia in promoting innovation, community development, and socially responsible leadership while sharing the vision and contributions of Minhaj University Lahore in advancing quality education and research.


The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Khurram Shahzad, Registrar MUL; Mr. Faisal Hussain Mashadi, Managing Director MWF UK; Dr. Yasir Ali Khan, Head, School of Political Science & History, MUL; and Mr. Abdur Rehman Malik, Treasurer MUL.
The visiting delegation appreciated the university’s academic environment, research initiatives, and community-oriented approach toward education and development. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri presented his authored books to the distinguished guests and exchanged commemorative souvenirs as a token of appreciation and goodwill.


The delegation also toured various academic departments, research centers, and administrative facilities of Minhaj University Lahore, including the Ibn Sina Digital Robotic Library & Resource Center, Shaykh-ul-Islam Institute of Spiritual Studies, and state-of-the-art laboratories across different faculties. The guests highly appreciated the university’s modern infrastructure, academic environment, and continued commitment to innovation, research, and quality education.


During their visit, the delegation also visited the office of Al-Mawakhat Microfinance Company Limited, where they were briefed about the organization’s mission, outreach, and ongoing efforts toward financial inclusion and social empowerment.

محنت کش طبقہ کسی بھی معیشت اور معاشرتی نظام کی ریڑھ کی ہڈی کی حیثیت رکھتا ہے۔ عالمی سطح پر تسلیم شدہ اصولوں کے مطابق معاشی ترقی، صنعتی استحکام اور پائیدار سماجی بہبود کا انحصار براہِ راست افرادی قوت کے حقوق، ان کے تحفظ اور ان کی منصفانہ شمولیت پر ہوتا ہے۔ اسی تناظر میں یہ امر بھی واضح ہے کہ دنیا بھر میں لیبر قوانین ایک ارتقائی نظام کے طور پر مسلسل معاشی، سماجی اور سیاسی تبدیلیوں کے مطابق ترقی کرتے رہے ہیں، جبکہ پاکستان کا لیبر فریم ورک اب بھی بڑی حد تک پرانے نوآبادیاتی قوانین پر انحصار کرتا ہے، جس کے باعث ایک جامع اور جدید نظام کی ضرورت بدستور موجود ہے۔

اسلامی اقتصادی فکر میں محنت کو محض معاشی سرگرمی نہیں بلکہ انسانی وقار، اخلاقی ذمہ داری اور سماجی انصاف کا بنیادی مظہر قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ اسلام مزدوروں کے ساتھ بھائیوں جیسا سلوک، انصاف، بروقت اجرت کی ادائیگی اور ان کی استطاعت کے مطابق کام لینے کا حکم دیتا ہے، جس سے انسانی مساوات اور وقار کو فروغ ملتا ہے۔ اس تناظر میں اجرت میں انصاف، روزگار میں برابری، اور محنت کش کے ساتھ باوقار سلوک کو بنیادی اصول کی حیثیت حاصل ہے، جبکہ ایک اسلامی معیشت میں سماجی تحفظ، واضح معاہدات اور مؤثر حکومتی نگرانی کے ذریعے محنت کشوں کے حقوق کا تحفظ یقینی بنایا جاتا ہے۔

یہی اصول آج کے بین الاقوامی لیبر اسٹینڈرڈز میں بھی تسلیم کیے جاتے ہیں، جہاں منصفانہ کام کے حالات، بنیادی حقوق کا تحفظ، اور انسانی وقار کو مرکزی حیثیت حاصل ہے۔ اگرچہ عالمی سطح پر ان اصولوں کے نفاذ کے لیے پیش رفت ہوئی ہے، تاہم مختلف معاشروں میں ان کا اطلاق یکساں نہیں، جس کے باعث محنت کش طبقات کو درپیش چیلنجز برقرار ہیں۔ مضبوط اور پائیدار معاشرے وہی تصور کیے جاتے ہیں جو اپنی افرادی قوت کو تحفظ، مواقع اور انصاف فراہم کرتے ہیں۔

اسلامی فکر اور جدید عالمی اصول اس بات پر متفق ہیں کہ حقیقی ترقی صرف معاشی اشاریوں سے نہیں بلکہ انصاف، مساوات اور انسانی وقار کے عملی نفاذ سے جنم لیتی ہے۔ تمام مذاہب کی تعلیمات بھی اس امر پر متفق ہیں کہ معاشرے کے کمزور اور محنت کش طبقے کے ساتھ انصاف، رحم اور بروقت حقوق کی ادائیگی لازم ہے، لہٰذا کسی بھی نظام میں استحصال کی کوئی گنجائش نہیں اور ایک اسلامی معیشت کے لیے ان آفاقی اصولوں پر عمل ناگزیر ہے۔

ریاست کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ جدید تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ لیبر قوانین تشکیل دے، ان پر مؤثر عملدرآمد یقینی بنائے اور محنت کشوں کے لیے سماجی تحفظ کا مضبوط نظام قائم کرے۔ اداروں اور نجی شعبے پر لازم ہے کہ وہ منصفانہ اجرت، محفوظ کام کے ماحول اور انسانی وقار کے احترام کو اپنی پالیسیز کا حصہ بنائیں۔ جبکہ انفرادی سطح پر ہر شخص کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ اپنے زیرِ نگرانی افراد اور کارکنوں کے ساتھ انصاف، ہمدردی اور احترام کا برتاؤ کرے، تاکہ ایک متوازن، منصفانہ اور باوقار معاشرہ تشکیل پا سکے۔
