As some of you know, I’ve always had a curiosity for Kodak consumer video gear. Here’s the Kodak MVS (Modular Video System) from 1986.
Kodak designed this as a modular home video system with optional extras like a separate tuner/timer unit and other expandable components. Definitely one of the more unusual pieces of 80s video tech.
I’ve also ordered another system, complete with all the extras, to help round out my Kodak MVS setup. Once everything arrives, I’ll share a full breakdown of the entire system here in the lab.
(Camera = Kodak MVS-460 / Deck = Kodak MVS-5000)

Can someone please explain to me why my Panasonic AG-HPG20 P2 recorder likes the FireWire data coming out of my Panasonic AG-DVC200 and not the Panasonic PV-GS400? I’m guessing the broadcast-ish cam has a protocol something-er-other embedded in its data which the P2 recorder is looking for? …and is missing from the consumer camcorder?
