We Talk Menopause
Following on from my video yesterday about why menopause can feel harder today than it did for our mothers and grandmothers, I wanted to share a quick summary of the 5 key factors that may be contributing to more intense symptoms for many women.
From the pressures of modern life and the mental load we carry, to changes in our diet, increased chemical exposure and constant technology, women today are navigating menopause in a very different world.
If you watched the video, this carousel is a handy recap. If you missed it, this will give you an overview of the main points.
Which of these do you think has the biggest impact on your menopause journey? Or is there something else you feel makes menopause more challenging today?

We're often told our grandmothers just got on with menopause... but do you agree that menopause is actually harder today?
👍 YES – modern life makes it more difficult
❌ NO – women simply talk about it more openly now
Then tell me why in the comments. I'd love to hear your perspective and experiences. 💜

Can we talk about how random food intolerances and symptom triggers seem to appear out of nowhere during perimenopause and menopause? 😩
Foods and drinks we’ve enjoyed for years can suddenly leave us feeling bloated, anxious, exhausted, overheated, or unable to sleep. Hormones really do change the game!
Some common culprits women mention are:
☕ Coffee
🍷 Alcohol
🍰 Sugary snacks
🍞 White bread
🧀 Dairy products
But honestly… everyone’s “problem foods” seem to be different.
For some it’s spicy food 🌶️
For others it’s fizzy drinks, chocolate, gluten, or even healthy foods they used to tolerate perfectly!
What problem foods or drinks are on YOUR list? Let us know in the comments 💬💜

Does food ever feel like it gets stuck in your throat?
Swallowing difficulties can be a surprising symptom of menopause, but it’s more common than many women realise. In my latest video, I talk about why it happens, and what can help.
I’d love to know - have you experienced this symptom during menopause?

Menopause bloating can feel completely unpredictable… one day you’re fine, the next your jeans feel tight out of nowhere 👖😩
For some, it starts first thing in the morning. For others, it creeps in during the day or hits hardest after dinner. Hormonal changes, digestion and water retention can all play a part, but it’s different for everyone.
That’s why we’re curious 👀
💬 When do you notice menopause bloating the most - morning, midday, afternoon or evening?

Following on from my video on driving anxiety during menopause, I’ve put together a simple carousel you can save and come back to whenever you need it.
If driving has started to feel different or more challenging than it used to, you’re not alone. When I spoke about increased fears recently, driving anxiety was one of the most common fears women shared - so many told us it had taken them by surprise.
Can you relate to this? Have you found anything that’s helped you feel calmer or more confident when driving? We’d love to hear your tips or stories - share them in the comments 💬 Eileen x
