Currently working on 3 videos simultaneously (!) to keep myself in the algorithm while I'm on a much needed vacation. Topics include: -Another Miles bass line -EWF -and one of my all-time favorite fretless bass solos* *(not Jaco)
My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary as a couple this spring and her gift to me was two front-row tickets to see Christopher Cross this weekend. I guess all that jamming to his songs over the years was worth something. LOL.
I could only go if I did two things: 1) I had to make a video about him before the show and 2) I have to wear a 'pdbass' t-shirt to the concert
SO, with that I hope you will click on the video that goes up tomorrow (Monday). I dug into some of his music, how it was deeply connected to HIS favorite band (Steely Dan), and how a song that never charted might be the best song you'll hear in his live show. This is gonna be a week...
And then there were none. RIP to the Great Sonny Rollins--who was the living person from "A Great Day in Harlem". This is a video I did about that historic photo over a year ago.
