Enemies has a playful, almost arrogant energy to it, not from bitterness, but from self-confidence. It's an ownership song about not taking any more crap, rising above past dynamics, and turning all of that into positive energy. It’s dedicated to all the enemies of my past haha

IVOR NOVELLO. Best Album! Two years ago, I had my first baby and decided to write a record about parenthood in all its shapes and sizes. We moved out of London, and I wrote a lot of the demos in his future playroom while I waited for my studio to be built. I just wanted it to feel raw, vulnerable, and lyrically exposing.
Fast forward to now, and the album has been nominated for what I see as the most prestigious songwriting award — I can’t believe it! It’s given me the confidence and impetus to keep leaning into vulnerability and diving even deeper.
Thank you so much to the Ivors. I’m so grateful and blown away by this!
