As a fellow Veteran, Memorial Day has always meant more than just a long weekend.
Today is a day to remember the brave men and women who never made it home. The ones who stood beside their brothers and sisters in service, willingly sacrificing everything for this country and for the freedoms we often take for granted.
Many of us who served carry memories, friendships, and experiences that will stay with us forever. Today, I especially reflect on those who gave their lives in service and the families who continue to carry that sacrifice every day.
Please take a moment today to pause, remember, and be grateful.
To all Gold Star families and to those we lost — you are not forgotten.
