While with CBBR I am sentimental as a first such race abroad, IMO Colina Triste is one of the best MTB stage races in Spain. It is better in most terms against Med Epic, which so many people cheer about - except the coastline bit:)
More technical trails, some flow and amazing panoramas ahead.

Lately I've been uploading onboards with embedded comments in english. After Rally di Romagna MTB 2026 I got a request for translations into Italian. Which, with my knowledge in scripting is not that hard to pull off.
Thus from now in comments section I will add auto-translated bits in the native language of the country where the race is held at.

The question I get asked every year, as someone who race and records that to watch for others. It’s a good time to broaden the perspectives a bit.
In pairs racing, there are a lot of things involved. And when we talk about 8 days of doing THAT - it is not necessarily the legs which will carry you through. It’s the team you build.
With 4 very different pairs racing experiences from the past, I collected a list of things which are far more important than just winning the lottery and paying the starting fees to Cape Epic - which, those who don’t participate talks a lot. It’s pretty much least of the concerns.
Will share with you what I have learned, in a hard way :)
Spoiler alert - even for a week, your marriage should be worth awhile. Cause otherwise - you might never want to go back to such endeavours :)
