Hey! I’m Dominik. I’ve been a sound designer and field recordist for over 13 years. I currently work as a sound designer at SourceSound studio, designing sounds for movies and game trailers (like Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.).
But my biggest passion is recording nature... especially her more extreme moments :)
I use mics like the Sennheiser DMS setup (2x 8040 & 8030),
a Sennheiser 8020 stereo pair in a SASS array,
and recorders such as the Sound Devices MixPre-6 II and Zoom F6.
All of my recordings are authentic and captured directly in the field. I also try to share some behind-the-scenes content in Shorts and posts whenever I can.

Silent Field
Finally!
After a long time, I finally managed to record one of those thunderstorms with constant thunder nad light rain. They're actually pretty hard to catch because most storms have long pauses between thunder.
I left my mics in the middle of a meadow, where there was a tiny "island" of pine trees. I found a fallen tree there and placed my SASS array underneath it to protect it from the rain and for almost two hours, the thunder just kept going... no long pauses, just constant thunder.

I've experienced a lot of thunderstorms, but this one was terrifying.
I couldn't film it because I was driving with my kids, but I managed to take a few photos. Not sure what type of storm it was exactly, but it was rotating pretty fast

We've had very stable weather these past few days, with temperatures in my area reaching 34–40°C (93–104°F). It's definitely been very hot.
I'm using this time to slow down, rest, and spend time with my family and kids. 🙂
Starting around Tuesday or Wednesday next week, cold fronts are expected to move into our area and bring some very strong thunderstorms, so there's a lot to look forward to
I also bought a new camera, which means I'll finally be recording my videos in 4K (finally I know hah)
