She chose to make flared leggings with lycra fabric and constructed the whole piece on the overlocker.
Over these last few weeks J has made a tote bag, 2 different sized zippered pouches, a cushion cover, a t-shirt, a self-drafted skirt and now these.
You have done an amazing job! And keep on making things you love!

If you (or someone you know) are craving more confidence at the sewing machine and have been wanting support, reassurance, or just someone in your corner while you sew - I’d love to help. Or if you know someone who would, feel free to pass this along. Drop me a message!
I knew there would be interest in the 2026 sewing retreat.
I just didn’t expect this level of response and I’m incredibly grateful for it.
The retreat is intentionally small, limited to just 12 people and the waitlist has already grown far beyond that.
It’s brought back memories of when I launched the waitlist for the Sewn at Midnight Gala.
I remember thinking: I know this event will be special regardless of numbers…but deep down, I wasn’t sure I could fill a 50-guest event.
And then it sold out.
There’s something strange about the moment things begin to shift.
It's like you can feel it. At least I am sensing something different. Even regulars at my events, say the same thing. something feels different.
Less about quantity and more about quality. Really what people want, instead of what I think they want.
So many people had mentioned wanting something like this. (Honestly, it was the same with the Sewn at Midnight Gala, people kept saying there wasn’t anything like it in the North West of England.)
Thank you to everyone who joined the waitlist! ❤️
Extra thanks to Janome, who once again said yes to this before even knowing exactly what it was or what was happening. That kind of trust and support means a lot.
This time instead of me making up the kits, I thought it would be fun to see where everyone's creative choices would take them.
We spent about 45 minutes making decisions on colours, prints, zips, zip pulls, webbing, lining...it's amazing how many creative decisions we have to make for one item!
But that is the joy of handmade - being able to create one of a kind pieces.
Surprisingly, most of the group went for the same design and similar colours.
We are missing a couple of people in our group photo here, but we had a great relaxing day altogether.

Next workshop will be on the 17th of July and this time I will shift from bag making to dressmaking. Stay tuned! ❤️

J's third completed garment and fantastically so!

I need your opinion please😊
Would you mind preparing your pattern and cutting your fabric before a workshop?

Brenda wanted help understanding a pattern to make a dress.
In one of our sessions we cut all the pieces from a duvet cover and started construction.
Brenda finished the rest of the dress at home and brought it back to show me! She did an excellent job!
In our next session, we made my pattern, the Lisbon Organiser. It turned out so good!
Every single version of it turns out so beautiful and unique.
The fabric choices for this on worked so well together.
Well done on all your hard work Brenda!
