I went down a rabbit hole on this one and came out genuinely unsettled 😳
In 1967 the U.S. government detonated a nuclear bomb underground on Apache land in New Mexico.
The next year — cattle started dying. Organs surgically removed. No blood. No tracks. Hearts sent to Los Alamos for analysis.
Then a physicist started intercepting signals from beneath the mesa. The Air Force didn't investigate the signals. They destroyed the man who found them.
Then an engineer who said he'd been inside the base was found dead with tubing wrapped around his neck three times. Ruled suicide.
The Jicarilla Apache say their ancestors came from the underworld. The mesa is still restricted. Non-tribal members still can't go up there alone.
