I’ll be real with you I’m not the “charity” type. I never planned this, never did it for the gram. I’m a party guy, always have been. But a few days back, in the middle of celebrating my own birthday, something hit me: partying is great, but I wanted my birthday to leave behind something more. Something that adds even a speck of good to someone else’s life.

So I went to an NGO and spent the day with these kids. Cut my cake with them. Distributed some notebooks, pencils, erasers.

I can’t even explain the feeling. The moment I walked in, everyone was shouting my name “uncle!”, “bhaiya!”and it was the purest thing I’ve felt in a long time. I asked each one what they want to become when they grow up, and listening to those tiny dreams from such little kids… man. They were over the moon over a pencil and a copy. That was their whole world in that moment. Content. Satisfied. Happy.

And here we are parties, everything we could want and still feeling like something’s missing.

These kids taught me what happiness actually costs. Almost nothing.

Best birthday I’ve had. 🎂
