Predatory attacks on divine texts expose how willing we want to intellectually limits ourselves as humans. I know it is convenient to empty our thoughts rather than deepen them.

And convenience has a cost, because it flattens nuances - and keeps vulnerable people exactly where exploitation needs them to be.

The real question is: who benefits from a superficial reading, and who benefits from a deeper one?

What is the motive? Because the choice of approach to divine text is never neutral. It never was.
