“The twists and turns in this story keep on going.” - Roberto Deniz, investigative journalist at @ArmandoInfo.
Deniz and his colleagues have long reported on businessman Alex Saab’s scandals and his ties to Nicolás Maduro.
Maduro’s “bag man,” as Saab is widely seen, has now joined the deposed Venezuelan president in U.S. custody — and the money laundering charge Saab faces stems from a “food fraud” scandal Deniz and his colleagues uncovered a decade ago.
Get the full story on the discovery of that scandal — and the price Deniz and his colleagues paid for bringing it to light — in the 2024 documentary “A Dangerous Assignment: Uncovering Corruption in Maduro’s Venezuela,” from FRONTLINE and Armando.info: https://youtu.be/MWnZF6zpbPY

Two teens who shot and killed three people at a San Diego mosque this week were radicalized online and held white supremacist views, The Associated Press reported.
FRONTLINE and @ProPublica’s 2025 documentary “The Rise and Fall of Terrorgram” traced the rise of a global community of white supremacists on anonymous, loosely moderated platforms that they used to spread hate and promote terror attacks. It also examined how some of these attacks became templates for future attacks, spread through violent extremist propaganda.
