The new BMW 7 Series Sedan represents BMW’s most comprehensive update to its flagship luxury sedan to date. It brings Neue Klasse technologies into the 7 Series for the first time, combining advanced innovation with a refined luxury experience. Exterior updates include a bolder front design, new BMW kidney Iconic Glow, and minimalist crystal headlights, while the interior introduces BMW Panoramic iDrive, the new BMW Passenger Screen, and an upgraded BMW Theatre Screen for premium entertainment. Customers can choose from efficient combustion engines, plug-in hybrid models, and fully electric variants with over 720 km of WLTP range. The new 7 Series also enhances comfort, safety, and digital functionality with AI-supported driver assistance, advanced chassis systems, and regular over-the-air updates. Built at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, the new BMW 7 Series will celebrate its world premiere on April 22, 2026, with production and global market launch beginning in July 2026.

The fully electric BMW i3, the second model of the Neue Klasse, is entering its final endurance testing phase ahead of its design premiere on March 18, 2026. Currently being tested at BMW’s winter test centre in Arjeplog, Sweden, the new i3 is being fine-tuned in extreme cold, snow, and ice to optimise its drive and suspension systems.

Built on the spirit of the BMW 3 Series, the new i3 is designed to deliver familiar BMW sportiness, agility, and long-distance comfort in a fully electric form. It features BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive (Gen6) with 800-volt technology, plus the new Heart of Joy control unit working with BMW Dynamic Performance Control. Together, they manage the powertrain, brakes, steering functions, and recuperation up to ten times faster than previous systems.

The result is sharper handling, improved stability, smoother stopping, and more efficient energy recovery—even in slippery winter conditions. With up to 345 kW / 469 hp, 645 Nm of torque, and peak charging of up to 400 kW, the new BMW i3 is set to redefine electric driving pleasure.

From 2027, BMW M plans to bring its “Born on the racetrack” DNA into a fully electric era, aiming to set new benchmarks for everyday and track-ready performance. Announced in Munich, Managing Director Franciscus van Meel says the next generation will leverage Neue Klasse technologies to elevate dynamics, capability, and upgradability.

Key highlights include 800-volt charging for faster charging and strong range, high-efficiency recuperation, and a new electronics backbone powered by four “Superbrains,” including the driving-dynamics computer known as the Heart of Joy. The new BMW M eDrive concept uses one electric motor per wheel (four total) with advanced torque control for maximum traction, stability, and precise handling—plus the option to decouple the front axle to deliver a familiar rear-drive character when desired. A performance-focused 100+ kWh battery supports sustained peak output, while new natural fibre lightweight elements reduce CO₂e versus carbon-fibre-style solutions.
