Friday Night Cranks

WELL HELLO everyone.

It has been so nice to randomly open Reddit and see all the support over the last few years! I wanted to share a good but small update regarding FNC.

The relaunch was pulled due to a ton of reasons, the bulk of it being all the stresses and reasons FNC wasn’t working for me and all transferred to the new project and I just wasn’t doing all of that again. I was also still recovering from a disastrous Late Night Webshow experience that involved lawyers cops lawsuits and a ton of drama which honestly should be its own show. We can talk about that soon. But I was beyond burnt out on life, being creative and needed something different.

So I took a step back…left the internet as a creator and just became a spectator. Moved a few times, helped other creators in the background and didn’t think about what I would do for a few months…which turned into years. Eventually I started to think of ways I can create new fresh content and make it all enjoyable for myself and whoever decides to watch.

The first fix is recording a ton of content ahead of time so I’m at least 6 months ahead when the first video comes out. This will really cut down on me feeling like I need to create every single week and avoid getting burnt out like I did doing the live shows every week. Those were amazing, fun and super intense..I just don’t see fun in doing that to myself.

The second fix is having help. An editor, eventually a channel manager and someone to keep me on track with tasks. Instead of doing it all myself, I’d rather stick to the ideas and execution and leave the editing social posts and “brand strategy” to people who really enjoy it. I don’t. It’s fun as like a side project or one off project for a friend, but not as a full time thing for me. If you know anyone send them my way.

Lastly is just making videos I’m not able to find online. The prank genre is very different from when I was doing it and I found a cool way to bring it back in a new way I haven’t seen done before. So I excited for that.

The downside is 1 video can take around 3-6 months of planning recording and execution. Then however long it takes to edit, get releases, create social media content from it and schedule it. So stuff has been in the works for a while, and I’m just now getting to recording the final versions after a lot of testing.

Last week I set up a desk, lights, camera mic and all the other stuff and while it’s not perfect it’s better than nothing and will get better with time. Realizing I was never lighting my videos correctly was hilarious to see.

Also in terms of live streams, they will still exist. Not every week, not always 2 hours and be more of a showcase of videos in progress and viewers can contribute ideas, see early clips and help guide videos like we all would during FNC.

The name is picked, social media pages claimed, branding is done and merch + patreon is planned with a ton of perks starting at $1. But all of that is for another time. Sometime in 2026 with possible in person shows in 2027. I have no plans on this becoming my only job again, I’d rather take anything generated and throw it right back in to make the videos better and fund my off the wall ideas. Maybe finally shoot the hidden camera series that I’ve wanted to make for a decade? Maybe in 2028 if the world is still a thing at that point.

Also to continue my promise, The FNC channel with old videos will remain untouched. I might post teasers trailers clips shorts and live dreams on there of new content to funnel people to the new channel who have forgotten about me, but none of the videos are going away!

All. Of. This. Rambling. To say, videos are coming. Soon? No idea. This year? Not likely. Next year? Probably. But when 10 videos are done you all will be the first to know. I’m sure it’ll be like most things I do where the first one or two take forever and the rest comes quickly.

Honestly I’m a little nervous to be back on camera, messing with people. It’s in a very different way and if the video sucks. No one has to see it which is nice to know.

In terms of people involved. It’ll just be me on camera for now, I’m sure friends and other people might jump on at some point but I don’t want to rely on the availability of others when we have such a short window to record once the months of planning are in place. Sometimes literally only minutes to set up once we get confirmation. I have fun ways to integrate collaborators but not at first I need to keep things small to get the best content and workflows in place.

As for my personal life. I’m super happy away from the social side of the internet and will keep it that way most of the time outside of the new show. A lot of life changes happened some I’ll share some I won’t, but I’m doing great. I think it’ll be nice to have a good separation between life and creating and not have it all one big intertwined mess again.
