So, just a quick heads up, since I've been knee deep into character creation the last 3 months and have been doing retopology all day, I am documenting all my retopology tips and tricks into a Blender Playlist here:
www.youtube.com/playlist?list...
This covers a lot of the issues that I think new 3D artists encounter and how to fix them. It's ALWAYS a good idea to know how to fix retopology manually because you never know when you'll need it ~

Also, I don't normally say this in videos anymore, because I don't like wasting people's time asking them to like, subscribe, etc. I know every video on YouTube now starts by asking for those things, and I simply prefer not to add to the noise ~ However, it goes without saying that the only reason I've been able to continue to make content like this for free is because of all the members that support each month. Even with lots of subs, I make nearly nothing from YouTube views directly, it's almost all purely kept alive from Members. If it wasn't for them I would have quite YouTube a long time ago, so I wanted to say thank you, and let you guys know that Members do get to see content early, it's the least I could do for all that you've done, and if anyone would like to join the community, you can do so here: youtube.com/@TheRoyalSkies/join

But, even if you don't, I hope you enjoy the free information and lessons ~ I don't hide any of my tutorials behind a paywall, members get early access, but the content is exactly the same and I intend to keep that way for as long as I'm able ~ Thanks again, and hope you have a Fantastic Day ~ !!!

Alright guys ~ So, just a bit of a heads up. Starting about 4 days from now I'm going to be going SUPER deep into some Unreal5 Blueprint stuff that I've always wanted to try and figure out, so there will be a bit of Unreal5 blueprint videos soon. Real quick before that though, over the next 4 days I'm gonna wrap up the modeling part of the new character we'll be using for content this year, and while I've been creating it, I've recorded quite a few Blender tricks videos that I'll be uploading starting tomorrow. For the last 2/3 months I was super deep into modeling and topology and texturing, so while it's still fresh on my mind those tricks will be revealed in videos first. But, yeah we're going back into blueprints mode from next week, so hope you guys look forward to that, and see ya next vid~!!

All the best,

Just wanted to give you guys a bit of a heads up announcement as for what I've got planned for the near future of the channel ~ With the support of all the brave YouTube Members and Patrons, and now that I have paid off my loans, I can now just "barely" afford to expand and hire a small team of artists to help me create content for you guys. We now have 2 MoCap Actors, 2 Cascadeur Animators, 1 Texture Guy, 1 environment guy, and 1 Music Guy ~ We could not afford a modeler because that is by far the most expensive, and so I am filling in that role myself until we can grow memberships more.

And, we have already started working on creating some cool new short clips/animations/content for you guys. The only thing that is preventing us from making rapid progress is the fact that I need to finish modeling the Character. So, everyday after work, I've been working on creating the 3D model for the shorts and Unreal5 Demo systems we'll be working on moving forward. I tried to save time by purchasing some "similar" assets from the FAB and artstation markets, but the topology for some of the assets have just been WAY too absurd for what we need, and so I've been remodeling much of what I got by hand. Take this Gun holster for example, we went from over 1 million polygons to 700 by just cleaning the topology, and I have to do this for just about every part of the character~

I need to finish this character before the Team can start making content for you guys, So, everyday I get off work, that's basically all I've been doing. But, I estimate it's going to take at least 2 or 3 weeks to finish the character before it's ready to animate. Honestly though, it's been kinda relaxing just 3D modeling again, and I've enjoyed it. But, unfortunately it doesn't make interesting content, and it takes a lot of time. So, I wont be able to do many videos this month, the ones I may do will probably be shorts. I just wanted to let you guys know why there may be fewer videos than usual.

Going through making a new character has reminded me just how much it costs for me to 3D model lol - The time it takes away from me being able to make content and videos for you guys is really quite unfortunate, and as such, there is a high chance this may be the last 3D model I make for the channel myself from scratch. At least for the year, I'd like to do a female variant of this soldier one day, but for now this character will be the one we use to demo all new systems and animations for a while, so hope you guys look forward to it :)

All the best,
