So here’s a juicy one

Once upon a time…

Ok just kidding

We had this client a while back start offering fingerprinting as a service in their office space

They were already offering some professional services as it is

Now this client wasn’t a newbie

She knew how to operate a business

And she was (and still is) an A player

Boss type material

Fast forward to setting up the business for her

We ask if we can have permission to open the tap for customers

Not thinking anything of it

“Yea let’s do it” was her response

Well about 30 phone calls later and booked appointments and walk ins to her office

We got this reply

“Woah woah let’s pause for a moment”

I was expecting results but this???

This is wild

Lemme get some infrastructure over here to handle these customers and let’s run it back

Oops 😬

We may have turned the tap on a bit too much

Well fast forward again

And she was rocking and rolling

Got a family member to help with some customers

Built out some sick procedures to handle as many customers as possible within a day

And at last

A new empire was born

Also I always said I’ll provide proof

In 2018 I made the easiest but yet most difficult choice of my life.

Leave the NYPD and join a smaller agency with a brighter future with more time freedom…

Or stay in the NYPD and take the paycheck to continue my lifestyles

I choose option #1

What happened from there?

- I refinanced my first house
- Maxed out my credit cards
- Got married
- Bought a forever home with my wife (needed work)
- Used the refinance money to fix that forever home up
- Enjoyed my new found schedule and commute

But!

Did NOT enjoy my new salary since I was starting over

So what did I do?

I started a business

And what happened from there?

I grew it through an absolute massive amount of pain, tears, 24 hour work days and just massive GUTS

Now im at the point where my salary from police work is back where it used to be

But my business is what saved me.

It allowed me the beautiful wedding

It gave me the confidence to spend money on that new file floor

The baby toys and crib for my first son

The confidence to try for a second child

The financial backing to be comfortable with taking risks.

Now my business journey is a WHOLE other story I can go into massive detail about.

But..

I’m here to tell you that a business on the side creates FREEDOM

“If you do it right”

I learned all my business lessons the hard way.

And I learned my life lessons the hard way (with a bunch of help from my father)

But I wouldn’t do it any other way.

I took a chance

Created something from nothing to make up the difference for that chance

And I’m better off.

Now I’m still navigating this business life mixed with family/career life.

But here’s what I learned and what you can take from it.

There is NO REASON why you can’t hold down a job and create your empire at the same time.

It’s actually smart if you ask me.

There’s always a way to build up a side business, empire, or organization while you mitigate risk with a job or career at the same time.

It requires planning and sacrifice but it’s possible.

I’m living proof of it…
