When you know better, you live better.
To me, the end of patriarchy is going to be similar to the end of racism. Race, like femininity and masculinity, was made up. Ancestral traits, like manhood and womanhood, has a biological basis. So people are waking up to the idea that their character, values, standards and morals guide their behavior, not their gender or their race.

People now realize crediting patriarchy with helping women and society is like crediting whyte supremacy with building civilization. Civilization flourished prior to colonization. Matriarchal and egalitarian societies were communal, cooperative and largely harmonious. Patriarchy and rac^sm are inherently exploitative. The rigid hierarchy of both oppresses the majority while benefiting less than 10% of people who are at the top.

Manhood has always existed. Masculinity like patriarchy is about 5000 years old. Prior to these weak definitions of masculinity which were literally DON'T BE LIKE WOMEN, men were given rites of passage to enter manhood. So in this case, the problem is men don't understand manhood outside of patriarchy. And in the absence of these rites of passage which now exist only in certain societies, men are defining manhood for themselves. Some define it constructively and effectively. Others define it by imitating the trends led by women: sprinkle sprinkle, 4B, soft girl era.
