We’re Petter and Margrethe, writer and architect, restoring an 800 year old farmhouse ruin on the Amalfi Coast, in the south of Italy. We’ve been travelling to this area for more than 30 years, and finally decided the time was right to embark on this (for us) massive project, that we hope eventually will be a second home for us and our family (and maybe for others too?).
A lot of work lies ahead of us, and if that sound like something you’d be interested in watching, please tag along! We’ll be posting new videos as the restoration continues, and as we have found a lot of inspiration from other brave renovators here on YouTube we also hope to be able to pay it forward.
In the videos you’ll also get to see a bit of life on the Amalfi Coast, probably a few clips from Rome, plus there’s a good chance there will be glimpses from travelling around in the rest of Italy too. Some in summer, but mainly from life out of season (the best season!).

We just posted a new video, and YET AGAIN we have to take it down and re-upload due to a technical issue. Long story, I'll spare you the details, but there is a lot of nice music in it that you now didn't get to hear, just the last song was there. So I'll run home and fix it, wait for it to upload, wait for music licences to be cleared, and THEN it will be back. Sorry again! And please see it again with the right music, it's so much better, I promise!

So, we found this ruin
Regarding subtitles: I get feedback from a lot of you that in the latest video (#8) the Norwegian dialogue doesn’t have automatic subtitles. I have made manual subtitles in UK English, US English and Australian English though, could you please try and turn on one of those in your subtitles settings, to see if that works for you?
It’s difficult to find the best solution for this, in the future I might go back to burning the texting for Norwegian and Italian directly into the video, like I did in #7, even though that isn’t a perfect solution either.

So, we found this ruin
We're back after a long and good summer holiday! Yay! And yes, I uploaded a new video this morning, I know those of you who have notification on probably got notified, and you might now be searching the whole web for traces of it. But an observant viewer told me that the good old "left ear only" audio was back, sorry! (can't hear the problem until it's up on YouTube, is always sounds deceitfully fine on my computer) So I took the video down, and is frantically working on fixing it now. I think I found the problem though, so hopefully it won't take too long, but I'll have to wait a few extra hours for music license clearing etc. But hang in there!
