🚨 We’re hiring a video editor for CarSauce!! 🚨

We’re looking for a talented editor to help us create car review, news, vlog, and social content across YouTube and our other platforms.

Ideally, you’ll have experience editing fast-paced YouTube content, understand retention, pacing, sound design, colour grading, and know how to make videos feel polished without losing personality.

Automotive experience is a bonus, but not essential - we’re mainly looking for someone reliable, creative, detail-oriented, and keen to grow with one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing car publications.

**About the Job**

CarSauce and TechSauce are Australia’s fastest growing independent automotive and tech publishers, reaching over 3 million monthly viewers across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and our websites.

We are looking for a talented Video Editor to join our creative team to help shape, refine, and deliver high-quality video content across both brands.

You will collaborate closely with our hosts and creative leads to craft story-driven, fast-paced, and highly engaging videos, primarily for YouTube, with additional edits for short-form platforms.

We publish around four videos per week (typically three for CarSauce and one for TechSauce), though this may vary. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment that blends sharp editing, humour, and narrative clarity.

Although our team is based in Melbourne, Australia, this role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the world, provided you can work flexibly and align with Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT) when required for reviews, feedback sessions, or team meetings.

If the successful candidate is located in Australia, this role will begin as casual employment with a strong scope to become permanent.


**Ideal Candidate**

We are after someone who:

- Is passionate about storytelling and understands pacing, tone, and emotion in video edits.
- Has experience producing engaging, high-retention YouTube-style videos,
- Is comfortable editing multiple styles of content, including full in-depth reviews, talking head videos (sourcing the correct b-roll), vlog-style videos, and more.
- Is genuinely interested in automotive and tech content.
- Is creative and always looking to improve their skills, evolve our video style, and experiment with new techniques.
- Can work to deadlines while maintaining a high level of polish and consistency.
- Is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a small, fast-moving team.
- Brings ideas to elevate each project, from transitions and pacing to sound design and graphics.
- Is receptive to feedback and eager to continually refine their craft.

**Job Requirements**

To succeed in this role, you should have:

- 3+ years of professional editing experience, ideally in YouTube, media, or commercial video production.
- Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro or similar professional software (After Effects, Audition, Illustrator and Photoshop experience is highly valued).
- Strong understanding of colour grading, audio balancing, and export optimisation for YouTube and social media.
- Experience with multicam editing and managing large-format video files.
- Strong storytelling instincts and a good sense of comedic timing.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills when working remotely.
- Ability to work flexible hours overlapping with AEST/AEDT time zones.
- A fast and reliable internet connection for transferring large files.
