What if the Revolution Failed? https://youtu.be/zyoSWk3ZiRY This painting is “The Death of Major Peirson, 6 January 1781” painted by John Singleton Copley in 1783. It depicts the final moments of Major Francis Peirson during a French invasion of Jersey. The British Commander was killed by a French sniper. The Battle of Jersey was part of the Anglo French War during the American Revolutionary War period. On January 6, 1781, a French force of about 1,400 troops under Baron Philippe de Rullecourt launched a surprise invasion of the British held island of Jersey in the English Channel to disrupt British shipping. The French initially captured the British Lieutenant Governor of the island and took control of parts of St. Helier. Major Francis Peirson was only 24 years old at the time, and, commanding troops at Saint Peter’s Barracks, refused to surrender and quickly organized a counterattack with regular soldiers, including the local Jersey militia. They fought an urban campaign in the market square of St. Helier, and, despite losing their leader, Peirson’s troops pressed the attack and decisively defeated the French invaders. It was one of the last battles fought on British soil.
Posting two big projects this month, both quite long and neither will be typical alternate history scenarios. Video topics for the coming months are actually pretty ironed out beyond that, as I have a lot of scripts done that simply aren't edited, but I'm curious to see if anyone has any particularly good alternate history scenarios to share? Leave a comment. Hope you guys enjoy!
