Predictive History
In his Foundation series, Isaac Asimov proposed that the science of "psycho-history" will help humanity understand its past, predict its future, and control its present. This channel is dedicated to exploring if "psycho-history" is indeed possible.
This channel seeks to answer the following three questions:
1. What models, theories, and paradigms help us best understand world history?
2. What does history teach us about our current predicament?
3. How much of the future can be predicted?

Dear viewers: Apologies, but I am not able to upload my Great Books lecture today. There was a technical malfunction during recording. Yesterday, some of you may have noticed that I forgot to turn on the primary microphone (which led to the poor sound quality). In all honesty, I have not been sleeping well because of the war and because of the online attention -- and this has led me to become careless in my work.
I am committed to producing high-quality content, and this means that I need to cut back on my uploads. As such, I will now try to upload a Great Books lecture once every two weeks, and there may be some weeks when I am only able to upload one Game Theory lecture. Thank you for your understanding.

Dear YouTube subscribers: This semester I'll be teaching Game Theory and Great Books. I will upload two Game Theory lectures a week (on Tuesdays and Thursdays), and I will upload one Great Books lecture a week (on Wednesdays). The semester ends late May, and I will be off the entire month of February for Chinese New Year.

Dear YouTube subscribers: We are halfway through the semester, and I will be uploading two lectures a week until Christmas Break.
I have three announcements:
1. My wife has taken our children to the south to avoid the flu season in Beijing. She has been my production team, doing all the filming and editing. I must do all the filming and editing myself, and the production quality will not be as clean and sharp. My apologies, and I thank everyone for your patience and understanding.
2. I now focus on religion, and I ask everyone to appreciate that this is a class focused on intellectual speculation. It is designed to ask provocative questions, not provide final answers.

Dear community: For the past 14 hours, I have been uploading Secret History #8 to YouTube. It is 99 percent complete, but the final stage has been painfully slow. It may be because that for the first time I am displaying another video (open source content), and that video has certain curse words. If this problem persists I may need to edit out that video, and do another upload. I apologize for the delay, and I aim to resolve this problem asap.
