Welcome to the Best-Shaped State of Michigan! My name is Kosta. I garden in Zone 6b, Macomb Township, Michigan (Metro Detroit).

I spend a lot of time wondering if my plants are still alive and looking at new plants to eventually replace those that succumb. This is my trial & error journey of un-aliving plants in the pursuit of one day having less lawn… and less anxiety.

Lawn Care is a hobby I enjoy & I've been "the guy with the nice lawn" for the past decade, but I'm now more interested in improving my landscaping design. I enjoy learning about perennial plants and trees — especially Japanese Maples and Conifers, and how best to keep them alive over our brutal Michigan winters.
