Walking Shadow Poetry Kenya

Walking Shadow Poetry is a spoken word platform that helps people grow from what was meant to break them. Through poetry, we address trauma, mental health, healing, and emotional growth.
Founded on June 19, 2021, our work inspires self-discovery and resilience.
The name is drawn from the biblical story of Peter, whose shadow brought healing—reminding us that even in darkness, there is power and purpose.
We create spoken word that offers hope, strength, and a path to healing. Join us to embrace your shadow and find your voice.

PHILEMON WACHARA ONG’ANY
Philemon Wachara Ong’any was born in 1934 in Nyamware, Kano Kobura in Nyando. He is now 92 years of age.

He received the Lord as savior in 1958, through some women visitors who had come in their home courtesy of his sister. Later after a week experienced baptism in the Holy Spirit.

From that moment, Wachara began to witness to others about the call of God in his life. He was convinced that God had called him into the ministry of preaching the Gospel with signs and wonders.

In the early 1960s while in the process of venturing out to share the gospel with other people, Wachara met a group of people who were professing the same faith he had, similar to those who had witnessed to him. He joined them in their church denomination- the Voice of the World Wide Salvation and Healing Revival (VWWSHR) and became one of the preachers.

In his preaching expeditions, Wachara witnessed certain remarkable events. In 1962, Wachara met Anyumba Kamatete from Nyamware who was suffering from leprosy. Anyumba had been abandoned to die.

The following year, Wachara prayed for Getrude Owinyo from Kano. She had been brought from Uganda while sick but unfortunately died.

Wachara believes that the church of Jesus Christ is firmly rooted and no evil scheme can oppose it. Members of a church have power and he believes that the body of Christ should reflect and exhibit the spiritual gifts.

Wachara is convinced that the individual members of the church must manifest and operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. In addition, a believer must have the Spirit of God in him/herself evidenced by speaking in tongues.

Apostle Wachara will be ministering at the Answer The Call Conference and he has requested me to bring the blind, the deaf, the lame and God will heal them.

God has graced him with a ministry of healing the sick and he is going to lay hands on people and impart them with this gift.

15 DAYS TO GO.
Wil you revive your church?
Oh Lord, Do It Again.

Walking Shadow Poetry Kenya

Always create time for you.
Not tomorrow.
Not when things settle.
Not when someone else makes you feel worthy.
Now.
Because your soul has been waiting.
Because your heart has been whispering.
Because your healing,
your peace,
your growth,
depends on it.
