In May 2016, at age 26, I fulfilled a lifelong dream: learning to play the violin. It's a challenging but amazing journey! On this channel I share my progress, performances, musical adventures and advice.
My name is Marijke. I work three days a week as a teacher in elementary school. I live with my husband in a cozy town in The Netherlands.

The Christmas collab video is nearing completion! The video cuts and end credits are all done, all that's left is audio tweaking: adjusting the volume of the different parts throughout the piece and adding a bit of reverb.

I'm spending the next two weeks in Disney World and Unversal Studios in Florida! So you know. 😉✨
After that, I plan to make videos again. I took a long break because I was into a big sewing project and didn't feel like spending time on Youtube besides that.
For the rest, I'll be working fulltime instead of parttime until the Summer (filling in for my co-worker's maternity leave) and I'll be busy practicing for a violin exam.

Just in case you're wondering what I'm up too these days: I'm on a sewing frenzy! 😊🧵
I'm making an outfit for a folklore day in my hometown. And this lead me into the rabbit hole of wanting to learn how to draft my own patterns.
I'm also practicing for an Easter church concert, where I'll be playing with two other violinists, a flute player, a band and a choir. We have rehearsals every week. So yes, I'm pretty occupied at the moment, but luckily it's all fun things. 😊
