I ran into one of my viewers today at my local record store, Sound Exchange. While this is not out of the ordinary, he had traveled from Tennessee, which is out of the ordinary, and wanted to check out the store based on videos I’ve posted. We had a great conversation, shared memories growing up, visiting record stores, and then later both working in them and how our love of music was formed. Ultimately we both parted to continue looking for new music finds. When I was done, checking out and getting ready to pay, he came up and insisted on paying for me. No matter how much I tried to reject his generous offer he insisted and ultimately paid. I’ve never had anyone do that and would never expect it. And it’s not even the paying as much as the gesture of wanting to purchase music to say thank you because he enjoys the continent I create and post on YouTube and he’s been turned on to great music through it. The idea that he was moved enough to want to pay for my new music finds is what blows my mind, making me deeply humbled, and greatly appreciating that I get to make this content, share it will everyone and that the effect came be huge. Thank you to all my viewers and who get something out of the content I post each day making your musical lives a little better each day.

The French record label Bad Reputation Records sent the attached statement which they received from the French Post saying that based on a change to US shipping, taxes will now be collected. Unfortunately this is not limited to France. In particular, the French shipping companies are looking for a solution to the problem as I hope other countries are as well. So when ordering international expect delays and added costs. Hopefully something will change soon and things can go back to normal.

Former Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro has released a new album Theory Of Mind. I’ve been streaming it and it’s excellent. So I went to buy it and found its only available from his website. The price was $25 which is fairly high, but ok, I don’t mind supporting an artist and paying more direct to them. I’m all set to check out when the shipping is added at the last moment and it’s $38 just for shipping, costing more than the CD, bringing the total order to $63 for one CD! What the heck is happening here?! Costs these days are inane! At $25 for the CD that should have included shipping but tacking on another $38 is crazy! Kiko what’s up?
